I haven't preordered (want to see a solid price first), but I'm heavily leaning towards getting it

Gamecube/N64 Emulation

I think it came out today it will have Gamecube support, so I would imagine it could handle the N64. I just want a huge expanded digital library to download from

It's crazy to me that Nintendo and Sony specifically haven't tried to harvest this more. Yeah, they're doing a little bit when it comes to digitally accessing older games but there is TONS that people would pay for right now just to have a solid port.

I do find Falon's cheers from the crowd while playing something as simple as mario run to be cringey.

I think it's more just getting the developers on board for it. Just give me Gamecube and N64 emulation support to go along with the other and put NFL Blitz in that Nintendo Store

Agreed. I saw a taping of Late Night with Conan O'brien back when he was still in NYC and still on NBC and, while the show was fun and genuinely funny at times, there was still an "Applause" light above the set that we were instructed to cheer / clap for whenever it went off. I can only imagine Fallon's show has the same thing and it was going off for that entire Mario Run segment.

I watched the reveal on the Switch but somehow I missed the fact that it comes out in March. I even watched this video but I was very millenial and just skipped around... I just watched it in full. Wow! This is amazing! March! I'm super hype.

Seriously google seasons of heaven

Just a few images and a basic premise but it's a 3rd party Nintendo switch exclusive that makes me excited for this console

The Wii U failed for a variety of reasons -

- Confusing name.
- Confusing marketing.
- Unappealing concept.
- Poor software tools for developers.
- Outmoded hardware.
- Lack of games, primarily in the first 18 months after launch.

When you look at the Switch, it appears that every single one of these issues has been rectified -

- Name is simple, easy, and almost catchy. Abandons the "Wii" branding.
- Marketing has been exceptionally clear on what this machine can do, and the purpose behind the name.
- Concept isn't gimmicky, but is functional and completely optional - and will be very appealing for many gamers.
- NVIDIA helped developed all APIs and SDKs, and will be distributing a plethora of software tools and resources to help assist developers.
- Hardware is using modern ARMv8 CPU cores with NVIDIA's Pascal (most likely) GPU architecture, which is about as modern as it gets.
- As mentioned, the Switch is poised to have the best launch window lineup of any game console in history, so compelling software won't be a hindrance, but a strength.

If the base model Switch comes in at $250 (or less), I fully expect the Switch to experience sales numbers that mirror the PS4.

The name also communicates what it is...last console to do that for Nintendo was N64 with the 3D logo

If it's $250, I'm in, seeing as the last Nintendo product I had was the 64, so that digital shop is calling my name

$320 was the last rumor. I can see that. Probably a good price too.

Day one. The Switch may very well have the best first year lineup of any game console in history.

You can't call it the best launch line up in history with so many rehashed games.

I hope the switch has great 3rd party support. Third party games haven't sold well on a Nintendo console since the N64.

Iirc, you could see the momentary depression on Fallon's face when he realized he had had a chance with Nicole Kidman that he wasted.

Does anyone else here want to buy a Switch

Ill get one within a month of release like I have every single Nintendo console since Super Nintendo.

And I will play Mario, and Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, and Pokémon and I will love every second of it.
