Easily the most disappointing boss for me. Fire Giant and Dragonlord Placidusax were two of the best fights in any game. The music, atmosphere, and the final push to Elden Beast were amazing. The Elden Beast fight itself just fell flat for me.

Agreed. Fire Giant was something else.

So what’s the plan for DLC? Is it a bad idea running in with our NG++++ characters or should we make a new one? I’m seeing some conflicting opinions. I don’t remember being overwhelmed on the DS3 DLC. I really don’t want to start from scratch and grind all of that shite out again. I am about to start another run through and get warmed back up again.

My plan was to start a new game and go all the way to the final boss but not beat it. Would that work?

Beating the final boss doesn't send you directly to NG+.

All the interviews with Miyazaki talk about a new separate leveling system that is contained within the dlc. He likens it to the system in sekiro where you get an item from killing a boss that you can trade in for an attack power up. You’re going to have to be able to kill mohg and radahn to get there so you’ll at least need to be about endgame status.

Personally I’m going to get one build to mohg but not going to beat him until the dlc comes out in case there’s a new cutscene. All my other characters that I’m done with are just sitting at the stone platform waiting to go into ng+ or hit the dlc

I'm starting a new character. I don't feel like going in at NG+4...

If I start a new character will I still be able to access my old character on xbox or will it overwrite it? I've been wanting to start a new play through, but I don't wanna lose my existing one.

Am I going to get absolutely wrecked rolling in with my 357? I’ve stuck with one character and about to do another playthrough or two before it releases to warm back up.

Level 357? If you’ve beaten the game I wouldn’t expect so. Probably has more to do with how you’ve handled the game in general. If you had to grind a ton to beat early bosses then you may have a tough time with the dlc. They mentioned one reason for them implementing the dlc leveling mechanics is so people don’t roll in with their high level characters and steamroll it. They wanted it to be a challenge like the base game

No, just multiple playthroughs with different builds on the same character

What I know is I generally have finished every build at around level 140-150 so that’s what I’ll end up going in with. I usually find there’s nothing else I want to dump rune levels in after that.

If your character is there or higher you should have everything you need

Just beat it the day the dlc was announced. Rolled into faith the whole way with night and flame sword and golden order incantations until placidusax and switche d to blasphemous blade degenerate build.

Got a surprise Ranni ending by clicking her stone after elden beast not knowing it would end the game but I'm glad I did. Can't wait for dlc.

I just beat the Elden Beast. What a relief. Haven't triggered any of the endings yet.

What are the things that I need to do before moving to NG+? I've been farming runes and loading up on somber smithing stones and plan to take down the mausoleums to duplicate some remembrances for runes/weapons

I’d at least get every remembrance and any ancient smithing stones you can. Some stones you may not be able to get due to quest lines.

If you care about trophies, work on those. Finish up quest lines

Started NG1. First thing I did was booty blast that fricking tree sentinel at the very beginning.

Felt good to treat him like he treated me before I learned to leave him alone.
