Been there, done that, not worth the hassle. Guy is probably using shitty parts because his overhead is so damned high.

And then you have to support the idiot (customer) after the sale. Nope.

Well I'm up to buying the parts if someone wants to make recommendations. I started reading the guide ILike posted and it was really well done but a little deep.

Based on the guide it's how well it's integrated together more so than just parts.

It's about balance, mostly. The better you understand the role of each component, the better you'll understand what you should prioritize for your intended use.

Blue will set you up with something worth every penny. I added up the cost of that Craigslist build (with some assumptions). You could buy every component today for $281.98 (after $30 rebate). That doesn't include Windows, but since it says "upgrade from Windows 7," I'm inclined to believe they purchased a $30 Windows 7 license on eBay and did the free upgrade. In your case, it's less of a headache to just pirate Windows.

It has a $20 power supply. A $40 CPU with a $50 GPU that's almost as weak as the iGPU. Yet the two do not crossfire. If I were to sweep the floor of my back storage room, I might find parts to build something faster than that.
