But how is that slow? It only gets crazier from there.

ETA: I'm not trying to be argumentative, just curious. I am a fan of OoT as much as the next guy.

OoT, FF7, and Kingdom Hearts are all co #1's as far as I'm concerned. Amazing worlds and amazing stories.

Idk. It might be that I'm not a huge fan of turn-based RPG's anyway. But the story really wasn't enough to pull me in.

Agree. It's storyline is by far the best I've ever played through.

Are you being serious? I love the Zelda games, but they're all variations of a very standard story, with the exception of MM. I don't know if you've ever played cRPGs, but almost all of them have better plots than OoT (my personal favorite is Planescape Torment).

Who gives a shite, not every game needs some epic plot. Zelda games are fun as hell to play. Epic boss fights, great puzzles, every dungeon having a different feel and theme. Awesome games.

I wasn't saying OoT wasn't fun or a bad game. Just that the plot isn't amazeballs like he thinks it is. That's kind of the point for Zelda games, to not focus on the plot and to focus on the journey.

My only point was that saying OoT had the best storyline in all video games is incredibly ignorant of the quality of writing that exists in other games.

I agree with this. I do tend to play games for their story, but Zelda games are played for their huge adventures and fun gameplay. The story line of OoT is very vanilla, but I will never forget the first time I walked onto Hyrule Field; knowing there was so much to do and I've only scratched the tip of the ice berg.

Well that's your opinion and you have the right to believe whatever you want. I would recommend playing some old rpgs that are known for their plot before coming to that conclusion though.

For the record I agree they are adventure based and not story strong. I just like posting gifs.

No. You don't agree with me therefor you must either be:

A. Mentally ill
B. Trolling
C. Completely uneducated
D. All of the above

OoT's plot is no where close to the best of the series.

Link's Awakening is my favorite, followed by A Link to the Past (first to have a plot twist), and Wind Waker.

Most would think that Majora's Mask has the darkest story, as the moon is about to wipe out all of civilization, and numerous characters die off.

Wind Waker has the darkest story of all Zelda games, imo. You learn that Gannon destroyed Hyrule many years ago in a story that some draw similarities to the story of Noah's Ark; everything and everyone was destroyed. At least in Majora's Mask you have a chance to save the people.

You never knew these people though. Previous genocide is often a tool used to make sure the hero has a cause. This happens all the time in fantasy, but I wouldn't call many of them darker than Majora's Mask.

The thing is you fail them many, many times before you save them once. Majora still wins overall really, it's just one plain of existence out of hundreds that you stop him in. And even when you save some people, you still can't save them all. Go for the Swamp, and the girl still gets lobotomized. Try and beat the temples, then you can't complete the Anju and Kafei quest. That's what really makes Majora's Mask the darkest of all the Zelda games.
