It's really hard to compare the two on a level scale simply because they differ so greatly. Either way, both would get raving 10/10's by today's media if put in the same circumstances as their initial release.

IGN gave MM a 9.9 solely because OoT came first. So it certainly would have and should have gotten a 10.

I disagree, it's a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever.

Agree.

1. Ocarina of Time
2. Link to the past

I find younger people like MM more but I just assume that is because of the time in your life when you play it.

OoT, A Link to the Past and Majora's Mask are on even playing fields. I love them all equally.

OoT is a great game, but it wasn't even the best or second best game released that year. MGS and StarCraft are better games.

Wow, I'm a big MGS fan but I can't even say this. Have you gone back and played the PS1 MGS recently? It doesn't nearly hold up the way OOT does.

I can't even compare OOT to Starcraft since they are SO different.

All great games, but all vastly different.

I think OOT is better simply because it is appealing to a wider variety of gamers.

I have yet to beat Majora's Mask. I rented it as a kid thinking it was just a sequel to OOT, and didn't really care for it.

I downloaded it on Wii a week or so before Skyward Sword came out. Got pretty far, but got stuck about the time SS came in.

This thread has inspired me to pick it back up!

Love that game even though I was older when it came out. I was actually a huge Zelda 2 Adventure of Link fan. Hard as shite.

Going from blowing up a Mako reactor to figuring out that a cynical corporation is using the reactors to suck the life out of the planet; to meeting a girl from an ancient bloodline that is on the run from an evil group is slow?

Different strokes I guess. Some would rather the Deku tree.

I have a soft spot in my heart for Wind Waker. It helped me through a bad break up.

You just summed up the first 4 hours of gameplay in one run-on sentence. That's kind of my point.
