just read something that said if you plug it up to a PC via USB that it would kill the connection to the xbox until you hook it back up to the xbox with usb. Might work?

Turn it on out of range of the Xbox

Plug it up to your pc turn it on and the connection to the xbone should be terminated until you sync it up again.
