I love it so. I had dabbled in it on a friend's Xbox back in the day. Now I have it myself and it's awesome

Nah, it's pretty much the same game as Oblivion, only less complex. Which is the same game as Morrowind, only much less complex. Which was a massive improvement upon Daggerfall. Which was slightly less massive improvement on Arena. But it is all essentially the same game. The same world. Different terrain. Different climate.

Whatever I love the poo out of this game

I've killed about a billion dragons so far. Only one was too hard for me but luckily it left me to go pick a fight with a giant which killed it in like 2 seconds

Played 400 hours, never got past the 3rd main quest.

And I'm not even kidding.

Yeah I believe you. I've done a lot of the college at winterhold missions which seems like a game unto itself, there's like 10 story threads I haven't even started

Yep.

Bethesda games can do that sort of thing.

I leveled everything up to god status and did all the side quests. That had me at 200 hours and then my 360 died.

A year later I got a new 360, loaded skyrim and played through exactly like the first time. Leveling everything, doing only side quests and exploration. About 200 hours in, I got bored and never got past the 3rd main quest.

I just hate this quest to kill the head of the thieves guild. I cut through these falmer like butter then I get to this bridge and for whatever reason an archers arrow kills me on the first hit

I have so much shite going on it's hard to compartmentalize

I have
the empire vs the stormcloaks

Thieves guild

The college at winterhold

Looking for an or the elder scroll to learn a shout to kill alduin

Dawn guard

Companions

I finished all the wolf queen quests and now they want me to clean up their vampire problem

The quest to find all of the masks is awesome.

The level-scaling in Oblivion made it completely unplayable. Killing a rat and a bandit was exactly the same at level 20 as it was at level 1. Nothing was too hard and nothing was too easy.

There's still a little bit of scaling in Skyrim, but it's not nearly as bad.

Now Morrowind had absolutely no scaling. You go to the wrong spot at too low a level and you get slaughtered. It was very satisfying to go back at a higher level and kick arse.

Yeah, very good point. I guess I should clarify that if you didn't play Oblivion on pc with mods (or any TES game for that matter) then you did it wrong!!!

There were workarounds for the broken scaling system.

Oh yes. I think most of us who played Morrowind made the classic "I'll go explore this mountain pass" mistake and ran into something that absolutely blitzed us. So much fun to go back and get revenge.

I've been playing the shite out of this. Finally got smithing to 100 for dragon scale armor. I've finished:

Mags'S college
Thieves guild
Dark Brotherhood
Basic Companions
Civil War

And I just found the elder scroll this morning. I haven't even gone down the path of the expansions. I'm never going to finish.

Is this your first time playing it? If so, you're in for a treat.

Game is addicting like crack. You won't want to put it down until you do everything

I recommend doing the dragonborn DLC if you are lvl 25 or higher (too hard earlier than that) purely for the ability to respec your skill points. Keeps you from having to restart characters, and I use it as a way to save points for skills I need in combat.

When I make new gear I go respec points out of illusion and archery and put them back into smithing and enchanting, make my gear and then put the points back for combat.
