Haven't played any video games in a long time really. Have an itch to virtually shoot some peeps

I'm heading to GameStop now, what should I buy?

Have an Xbox one, mostly will play online so story doesn't really matter to me

Are you down with futuristic stuff or not?

All of the new shooters basically come out in the fall so your options are a bit limited.

I would say to go with Modern Warfare Remastered due to it being what you want and cheaper, to tide you over until the new ones release in the months ahead.

Limited as in he's not allowed to get older games?

Standalone isn't available until the 27th.

OP can still get it with the digital deluxe version of Infinite Warfare, which is way on the futuristic side and a lot of people here hate, but that just depends on your tastes. Story mode is pretty good but he said he wasn't big on that.

Battlefield 1 if you're more into boots on the ground, Titanfall 2 for futuristic jumping around that is done right. I've gotten back into Titanfall and I'm loving it. Plus all of it's DLC is free.

Technically Modern Warfare is an old game.

Ah that's right, forgot all about the month delay on Xbone for standalone. I think you can get the IW version for almost the same price as standalone these days, certaintly pretty close used so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Nice, there is a thread a few posts down with a few active Xbone players to play with.

Rainbow Six Siege. The learning curve is steep but it's the most rewarding shooter I've ever played. I went from FPS being my least played game genre by a wide margin to basically playing Siege exclusively for nearly 2 years straight.

Was going to suggest this as well, and they have periodically offered the DLC for it for free, but I pretty much transitioned from 4 to 1 simply because not enough people were on 4. Maybe it was because I typically played Domination and those games were hard to find, but the player base definitely took a hit.
