Halo Anniversary multiplayer.

Ok, a few people are saying that the new halo Anniversary due out in Nov does not have online multiplayer. It is my understanding that since it is using the reach engine that it will have online capabilities(not just campaign). I just saw a video on youtube interviewing a guy named frank o'conner and he mentions an update on halo reach to accommodate for the new online multiplayer. has anyone else seen the video with him discussing this?

Well the Halo on PC had multiplayer so i would hope so.

He mentions in the interview that they couldn't use the original halo engine so it might not play exactly how we remember in halo 1 but at least we should have the original maps and weapons. I just hope they can keep the original physics like blowing weapons across the map.

Everything I've heard on this game is they will not have online matchmaking for xbox 360.

Halo Anniversary comes with Reach's multiplayer with 7 updated Halo 1 maps. This will also allow you to play in a Halo Anniversary Playlist on the Reach Multiplayer. This playlist is supposed to play like the Halo 1 multiplayer.

Can't wait for this and the Resident Evil 4 HD coming to Arcade. AND the Goldeneye Reboot!

I really hope they have the halo 1 physics and timed powerups and of course the pistol. That is the three things I miss most about halo 1. I loved launching a grenade halfway across a map and it landing in your hands!

I was under the impression there was no online multiplayer other than co-op. This makes me want it even more.

Watch this video by the executive producer of 343 Studios. It was released a couple of days ago at SDCC:

He states that the game runs parts of two engines at once. The underlying code- the code that controls how the game feels, how the AI reacts, etc etc is the original Halo 1 code. The reason for this is so the game feels exactly like the original.
On top of that engine, they've layered a new graphics engine to make it look a ton better. We'll be able to switch from the old graphics to the new graphics with a press of a button.
No mention of the Reach code or multiplayer, but he does mention campaign coop over Xbox Live ..and the pistol
