I've been playing ps1 games on my tablet -- including Shadow Tower -- the prerequisite to Demon's and Dark Souls. It's crazy how similar they are, especially the shitty hit detection.

Miyazaki was a coder when Demon's was in development hell. He pitched his ideas and took over the project. So he went from coder to president in like eight years.

I think he was speaking more along the lines of the game's development, but I think Demon's lore is more interesting than Dark's. I do love the game, but it can be so goddamn annoying.
