Ask them? At seven years old they should be able to tell you what video game consoles they want.

If I we're looking at a PS3, what limitations would I have with a 12gb model vs the 500 gig?

What's the price difference?

I would recommend going with the bigger memory just in case.

After researching further, the price difference is only about 70$. I'll get the bigger one.

just get the PS4 now and save yourself down the line. If you buy the PS3 now, you will be forking over $200 ish for the console minus the games. Then you are going to be buying a bunch of games at $60 a pop that won't be able to be used on the PS4. Whereas if you get the PS4 now, you will forever be able to play those games on your console.

Only if he is buying his kid new games. He can get older games that a 7 year old will love for cheap.

I'm not completely opposed to the idea, but I'm struggling justifying 250 on PS3 for a 7 year old. Another 200 just seems excessive. By the time he is old enough to really use what the PS4 offers, I suspect the price will have come down a good bit.

He is an active 7 year old. He will only play it a few hours per week.

You'd be surprised at how fast kids pick games up at that age. My son is 5 and plays the shite out of some call of duty. Santa is bringing him a PS4 for christmas so I can stop battling him for gaming time

the PS2 about 15 years ago.

While this isn't chronologically correct, it still made me feel pretty damn old.

Thanks.

I was definitely playing my ps2 13 years ago. I guess it wasn't 15.

you're the idiot who thinks that video games are what kill people right? Give me a fricking break. My son knows right from wrong, real from fake. It's not my fault your shitty parents couldn't raise you properly

The kinect on the 360 is garbage. Dont bother with it. The xbox one kinect does work better but the is not a lot of software for it. New Xbox One's are on sale for 350.00 at most retailers. Support by game developers for the 360 will likely last a couple more years but I doubt you will see much of a price drop before then.

What a stupid argument. You shouldn't have been allowed to reproduce. Your poor kid has no chance in life.
