Anyone here played Frostpunk and have any experiences they want to share? Looks fun

Frostpunk is the first society survival game. As the ruler of the last city on Earth, it is your duty to manage both its citizens and infrastructure. What decisions will you make to ensure your society's survival? What will you do when pushed to breaking point? Who will you become in the process?

I really dig this game.

But once you finally become self-sufficient the game loses its challenge.

Makes sense.

It can start off a little frustrating. Things can get out of control easy and it's game over. Like you have to start all over.

I thought it was a super cool concept and I enjoyed my time playing it. That being said, I could never get past week 2.

I found it extremely challenging. Like other said, a lot of starting over. I enjoyed it a lot though because I like challenging games.

The one we're all in right now is intriguing.

Didn’t take long to sign child labor into law. Lol.

Pretty fun. Thanks all for the recommendations

I liked it. I liked the choice-based mechanic in the game and the steam punk aesthetic. One of the better takes on Banished, IMHO.

They are working on a sequel.

On day 10 , and finding survivors from scout missions is becoming a burden. I can’t feed them . Used a steam core on a hothouse so hopefully that helps. Also enacted Soup law.

Almost out of wood; researching the wall drill

Ran out of coal the night before my coal mine become operational. Damn close to game over but we’re back online.

frick, we aren’t going to make it through the night once the coal miners shift ends. Gonna have to sign an emergency shift declaration.

Really need my scout teams to return with some useful shite and not more mouths to feed.

Banished from the city. Game over.

Finding that empty settlement killed Hope and set me on a timer to fix shite but I couldn’t. Ah welp.

My city layout for optimized heating was poor. Generator went out during a cold snap and everyone was pissed.

Let’s try again

I was likely only a few hours away from solving the problem by building watchtowers correctly over tents. This game is really balanced on a knifes edge

It is very hard with a big learning curve that will make you restart over and over. It's too difficult for a city/survival genre game to hold my interest. Not that it's too hard for me to play, just that I like a more laid back city building/survival game experience. When I play that genre I want to think, but also relax. Frostpunk does not offer both of those options to it's player.

Pretty hardcore survival game, but fun. Played it for about a dozen hours. It seems really well made, but the wheels came off of my little society really quickly every time. ?? Didn’t seem to matter what I did.

shite does change fast. I’m entering day 15 on my 2nd play through with full hope / no discontent somehow. About to find the abandoned settlement though, so I’m sure the wheels will fall off horribly real soon

2nd try:
I started passing hope raising laws asap (cemetery , Public house)
No child labor. Have child medic apprentices instead
Learned how to setup streets / steam hubs more efficiently
Got my people into heated work zones (wall drill , coal mine etc) asap to help avoid sickness
