It helps in this game that cover is destructible

But not as good.

No vehicles.
Hitscan weapons. No bullet ballistics.
Not really any camo.
Fortnite isn't a sim. The destructible cover and building mechanics really give it a different feel than PUBG even with the obvious similarities. Plus it performs way better.

i hate no weapon attachments. with the pistol or shotgun you are completely fricked against anyone with a scope. at least in pubg m16/akm drops are pretty damn frequent and u can put a scope on them and have a chance in almost any fight. in fortnite all the weapons are literally useless against the 2 best ones (sniper and scoped ar)

Yeah agreed. Weapon balancing would be great. The shotgun is also not very effective short range unless you're literally feet away from them.

i finished 4th TWICE IN A ROW last night. for the first one, i had accidentally joined a Squad server as a solo player fml. storm closed in and it was 2 v 3 v 1. I got one on each time before getting smoked.

2nd time I got sniped by a guy that had built an entire fortress. he perfectly built it to where he was inside the constricted storm and the last 2 people after me both died in teh storm. I was his only kill the entire game

Played a few rounds last night. I think I'll have fun with it but I have a lot of nuances to pick up on. Got 3 kills over the whole night, came in 39th in one round mainly because I didn't see anyone for a while. Definitely need to learn the guns. I got to this one town with no one around and was able to loot two houses before anyone showed up. Had a shotty and a some full auto rifle. Guy was about to come in the front door so I camped down the hallway with the rifle, started popping off as soon as he opened the door but he dropped me pretty quick with something. So I'm thinking either that gun wasn't as good as I had hoped and/or I should have been close tot he door with the shotty.

Does anyone actually spend any time with the building? It's hard to even practice that in the pre-game area since you have no materials, and since there are 100 players on this somewhat small map, you wouldn't want to spend too much time actually gathering supplies.

I can only imagine he feels that way because it's more of an arcade type shooter, and you don't have to deal with the steep learning curve of an ARMA like sim shooter.

make sure you're looking out for treasure chests. listen for the "sound" (hard to describe, but youll know what im talking about next time you hear it). They're usually up above the second floors of houses in hidden areas that are inaccessible without building your own stairs. build stairs up to the roof, pickaxe the roof to get in. same for the watchtowers that seem inaccessible.

any time you're in a building, use the shotty.

it's situational. it's much more commonly used when you're sub-40 players left. i didnt do it until seeing how helpful it was when my buddy did it. we were at the scrapyard and mined like 300 metal a piece. there's a bridge that runs across the length of the scrapyard, so we walled it up in its entirety with metal walls and roofs. had a 2nd story that we walled up as well. left 2 holes for sniping. only way people were getting in there was with an RPG. There was a 3-man squad in a gun fight below us. sniped one guy, but he thinks he got shot by the other team, so he starts crawling towards me His buddy comes to revive him so i snipe him too. 2 guys crawling around. 3rd buddy comes to revive both and builds 3 walls around them to shield them from the other team. I snipe him too

When you get to like 15 people left, find a spot that will survive the storm constrictions and build a fortress, it's a very common strategy for the winners

what platform are you on? I'll get on and help you leanr the ropes

PS4

Got a friend to download it last night so we'll probably hold each other's hands and figure it out together. Not sure if it will completely take me away from Destiny, but it was intriguing.

Fair warning, I'm rarely able to play with anyone (chat and all), so don't be disappointed if I don't accept an invite

Well, I get 20-25 FPS on PUBG with every graphical setting set to very low. I get 60 FPS on Fortnite with graphics set to high.

Not the same engine I realize but smooth gameplay will always win me over.

It plays so much better overall.

I don't get FPS drops, I never encounter bugs, I haven't been dropped yet, and I actually pick things up when I execute the action.

That being said, PUBG is the better BR game. Fortnite BR is an arcade version.

You're playing PUBG on Nov10-12th, so I'll allow you to experience this knockoff for a bit longer.

Trust me, on the surface I'd rather be playing PUBG. But this will have to do.

And it is kind of fun.
