Battle royal is fun, same as any other battle arena. Camp and win or try to shoot every chance you get and die. Won once in group and came in 2nd in solo going camper route, die fast going leeroy mode.

Some think it is boring some don't.

I don't mind either way. I do what the situation calls for or what my instincts tell me at the time. I am trying to win.

Keyword -- TRYING I have won a handful. Lots of top 5s and 10s. Damn circle!!!!

I played it for a few hours this morning. Had a 6th place finish in my second game, trying to figure out wtf to do butaged to get three kills.

I had mostly 25-40 place finishes so I start one match 15 minutes before I have to go leave for work. There's five of us left and I see it's five minutes past the time I had to leave for work at

All in all, fun game. Whoever gets a sniper rifle usually ends up in the top 10.

played some squad last night with a friend. had a BLAST. we're booking it to the safe area with the storm right behind us and I get smoked by a sniper on a hill to my right. my friend is nowhere in sight. sniper runs up to me to finish me off and gets blown away by a shotgun. guy's 2 friends come running down the hill and my buddy builds 3 walls around us so that he can revive me. get juiced up and we smoke the other two guys. finished 9th and 10th that game. very exhilarating

as much fun as im having, i feel like PUBG will be even better. cant wait for it to hit console

Sorry if this has already been stated, but this is a standalone version, not a free add on to the main game, right?

Also, since I don't own the Fortnite is there any type of tutorial on how the game works, mechanics and control wise, or do you just get thrown in?

They drop you in a warmup area before you are dropped on the island. Have like 1.5 minutes to acquaint yourself. Use picksxe to hit trees, cars, buildings, etc to get materials. Use materials to build walls, stairs, floors, etc

Guns and shite are usually found indoors. Different colors represent rarities like in most games. Sniper rifles are OP. Shotguns are awesome

How does the shooting feel? One of the knocks I heard from Jeff Gerstmann........who hates everything. But is it fun to play?

They need some work. Seems like everything shoots in a cone when rapid firing. Snipers are OP. Like SG said, you need proper projectile physics and ballistics for the shooting to feel rewarding and fair. In Epic's defense, I think they kinda threw PVP together after the success of PUBG. I'm sure things will improve


Vehicles coming later. Building mechanics really shake it up and the map is well designed.

It's free and it will hold me over well until PUBG hits console
