Basically make it so that they fully explore but section by section
This game never gives me the feeling I've advanced. There's not a lot of geographic diversity and I think it hurts the game.
I want to explore but it's so much and i don't know where to start. It's kind of overwhelming and stressful

You guys are making me think I should just play the older final fantasy games first

Final Fantasy IX is essentially a perfect game.

This and Last of Us are my favorite two games.
Hopefully they release the IX PC version to PS4

There is a rumor of a 1-9 collection for next year
Posted on 12/6/16 at 6:00 pm to Mr Gardoki
Saw that.
Don't believe that.

I really want that collection rumor to be true. But i am skeptical as well.

Of course it's true, then after everyone is excited they will leak out that it's episodic...

shite, ffx and devil may cry were released around the same time. it's not a product of limitations but rather something that has appeal for those who like strategy before, and during combat.
I think you're underestimating the technical hurdle Square faced with their gameplay choices. FF7 remake is going to be action combat because that's what the original creators want to make. It's their vision for the game.
Although, they've said it's going to be more like Dissidia, not FF15.

If you haven't played the older final fantasy games, you're missing out. They've all aged incredibly well too because the stories are engaging and the gameplay is good
The original is light on story, but final fantasy 6 (known as 3 in the US) is so big and long but the story never lets up, the leveling up is fun as shite. I think X is my favorite because it really immersed you into spira but VI is the better game and it is a perfect game

I understand there was a technical hurdle
Limitation spawns creativity and from that came a style that caught on and thus far hasn't been replicated in real time combat. It isn't an obsolete gameplay mechanic.
BTW, my objection to the VII (or disappointment) stems from the fact that it's already been done and it's unlikely this one will be better but even if it is, it's the same story.
That's disappointing because they could have a NEW story and game that far along in development

Yeah 6 and 7 might be my favorite but 10 is up there and so is 9 with 4 also not far behind.
Even though it was a different experience I had a really good time with 14; it was my first time really getting into a MMORPG so that could be part of it too.
And while also a different experience; I'm enjoying the ride that is 15.

I'm enjoying 15, it benefits from following 13, but it's also part of a gaming series that up to 10 was probably the best gaming franchise in existence
6-10 is a murderers row of great games. And they were released over an 8 or 9 year period

I don't feel like there's too much at all. The open world does a great job of boxing you in to the roads with vast open spaces off the roads that were clearly meant for Chocobo riding.
I'm to the point where I'm gonna be heavy on the Chocobo riding and I'm actually looking forward to exploring those large coastal areas away from the roads.
If FFXV's open world intimidates you then Witcher III or Skyrim would make you cry. Now those you can just about reach every spot on the map if you put your mind to it. Love love love loved those games.

Well I guess that's my point make it accessible but at the same time encourage point A to point B to point C to point D and don't make getting around so easy at the beginning. Go too far and you're not prepared and you get slaughtered
That's pretty much what everything up to 9 was. Take 7 for example, you're mostly limited to where you can go by the means of transportation until you get the Highwind. Even then, you can't go everywhere unless you start breeding chocobos. All with an open world map.
Also, the farther you go, the stronger the enemies get.

It's the first final fantasy game that isn't a sequel
None of the actual numbered games are sequels.
The only sequels are Dirge of Cerberus, X-2, XIII-2, and Lightning Returns.

Rumored post-release development goals for ffxv
I haven't played chapter 13 yet, but "fixing" it appears to be a goal. I kinda wanna play it before the fix to see how bad it could possibly be.

Chapter 13 is longer than maybe all the others chapters combine. I almost quit the game because how bad it was. It has like 3 or 4 bad things in that chapter that make it painfully slow.
