FIFA AI defenders are awful

It's hard enough to guard Johnny Evans on one of his patented weaving runs through the midfield in this year's game, but now we must suffer watching our AI teammates ineptly defend too.
I can't tell you how many of my teammates I've witnessed standing around on defense, staring at the play and letting the opposing team attack at will. There will literally be three AI teammates around the ball and no one will make a tackle. And don't even get me started on corner kicks. For Christ's sake, Ozil, at least fricking jump or something. And Mertesacker, what the frick are you doing? You're 6'6", jump, you Kraut.
Anyone else experience this pain? I feel it's worse this year than last. But I'll admit I enjoy the attack this year. It feels more authentic and realistic. Much more probing, like a chess match.

Yes, all the time, especially in online play... My back 4 is atrocious all the time. Feel like I have to constantly score 3-4 goals to get a win, and that's tough to do consistently

Yea they are pretty terrible.
The corners are especially frustrating this year. Half the time when I manually switch to defend the header it switches me to someone not even close to where the balls gonna land. I tried to the auto switch on air balls only but that was pretty miserable too.
I do like that you have to be patient when working the ball up the field and can't just get it to the sideline and blast up the field like in past games though
Also Lahm can't tackle Ronaldo, user controlled or not. I think the game designers made it impossible to happen. Ever.

yea well that also lets you dribble right through the computers D like its nothing

Turn off tactical defending. You lose the ability to tug on their jersey and whatnot with B, but your AI doesn't always stand around like idiots(they still do sometimes).
Also fool around with custom tatics. You can set your defense more aggressive and free flow defending to get them off their heels all the time.

I wish I had that problem. I win too easily on Pro, but when I play on World Class I go entire matches without a legit shot on goal.

Well that's not true. I didn't say Ozil had to win it, but at least jump! (I know he's not prone to play defense much, but I'm not Arsene; I expect my peeps to jump, dammit)

Whats even worse is when they run right pass the guy dribbling.
