How do you guys feel about the whole Arcanist/Summoner class? I like the damage over time thing for arcanist, but the summoner thing seems underwhelming kinda. I wish the Egis were larger.

If done properly, Summoner is do the most damage out of every DPS class. It's not an easy class to play though.

It seems like early on they are a kite class as a ACN that tanks with the topaz carby so the party can focus on the main boss while you agro the adds. Later on it seems that they have to resort strictly to DPS. I have seen several tanks ask an ACN/SMN to put away the topaz carby/egi.

I now have gotten miner and botanist to 50. I can definitely confirm that 80% success rate must be a translation error or mean something entirely different in Japanese.

80% in an FF MMO means 50% of the time you'll succeed 80% of the time. It's the SE random number coefficient. Other examples are 10% hq = 2% hq, 90% hq = 60% hq chance
Random numbers are a bitch. I should finish my +1 relic for BLM today/whenever I do AK this week. I'm interested to see what changes they make to Myth tome farming in the patch tomorrow.

Tomes were upped in WP to 100/30.
