I didn’t want to stop last night.

Told myself I’d play through the baseball game that was on the other monitor. Luckily it went to extra innings.

This weekend I already told the wife…who is also playing…don’t ask me to do anything.

I'm in the middle of a separation rn left my PS5 at my house with my daughters and it's killing me.

I have a steam deck and PS4 and FF is my all time favorite series. (Steam version a year out at least)

I'm about to off myself, I defended 15 in here bc I really enjoyed it, and I know it got shite all over.

The feedback this game is getting is unreal.

If you don't hear back from me, I've become one with the Lifestream.

15 really was a great game, the only issue i had was once I beat it I had a hard time going back to play the DLCs

I remember 15 being received quite favorably when it launched. I thought it was fun, but it felt incredibly unfinished

just finished the demo for this and yep, gonna be a must purchase. the storyline giving me witcher 2 vibes. combat seems fun but easy haha but that doesn't bother me, final fantasy games have never been about their difficulty.

Chilling at Martha’s. The surrounding zones are reminiscent of FF12 and I’m here for it. It’s opened up a bit more but not toooo much.

Still loving it. Find myself stalling a little bit. Play for 2 hours..do some dishes. Play for two hours take a nap.

It will be better with motion blur off but I haven’t delt with many issues as far as performance and I much prefer graphics mode.

I really like some of the item drops boosting moves but opt to keep my extra exp and Gil accessories on.

Still learning with the combat. I have experimented with combos etc and am starting to find my flow with my current move set. Love Garudas ability to pull enemies closer.

Holy shite this game gets let legit difficult. The barnabus/Odin fight is 30 min long and took 8 potions 6 high potions and 2 elixirs. He’s also my new top voice actor performance for his acting during the whole scene.

Also some of the hunt monsters are no joke. When they say S rank they mean it. The hunts are unique in a way though in a game with way point markers that make Ubisoft blush you just get a vague description of marks rumored general area no marker. You can also just run into them by blind chance without ever seeing the board post

The political machinations aren’t really anything akin to the any Witcher book or game imo. There’s spoilers reasons why this is the case and all isn’t as it seems but even disregarding that all of these people are on the face of it committing total war for what they see as the few last remaining life sustaining resources.

I’m pretty much approaching the final 2 hours of actual main story. This game will have its haters but for my money it’s one of the best games but out since at least elden ring and if you don’t like souls idk how long. It is wholly unique and offers stuff no one else has done and when 10000 people imitate like Witcher 3 you’ll know I’m right about this. I could go into all the reasons but I doubt you care. Honesty I expected to story or more so the primary driving plot to be what hooked me most, and while it is great if not a lot generic for what FF always done in some different aspect of the same story, it’s told with a refreshing structure and pace with nice mystery. Oddly the combat ended up being my high point I cannot get enough of it. And the main story boss bottles? Man holy shite no one can hold this games jock there.

For anyone like me who complained about easy combat, yeah you’re gonna eat those words. My advice is Bahamaut and Garuda are the clear best two icons. Phoenix has solid utility start to end. Titan is viable if you like defensive styles. Ramuh is mediocre and his ultimate is the highest damage singly target it’s not worth 19000ap to upgrade twice and master it. Shiva flat out sucks unless you’re highly skilled which I’m not enough to use her like I’ve seen on YouTube. Odin I just got be he is almost completely separate of a thing and in his own boat

There’s some serious cognitive dissonance at the end of this game the crescendo is here. Our team has met and we know what we have to do save the world. Sike! 14 side quest just popped up for you lounge around doing. Oh and if you wanna hunt some monsters there’s like 10-13 depending on how many you’ve done so far. Neither are exaggerated lol.

I guess the story does contextualize most of them somewhat as character arc side quest peaking before the final chapter, you helping out towns where your allies from most of the game being under attacks but some are absolutely comical

Same here. Witcher 2 vibes with hints of Game of Thrones and Attack on Titan for the story.

I get why you say it feels like the Witcher 2. Although that game has almost no character I would consider a good person, maybe geralt but that’s stretching it. Keep playing though and you’ll fully understand what I mean that it’s not. I’m not too sure how to explain it but trailers aren’t spoilers so you know they will attempt to destroy the mother crystals at some point it was in 2-3 trailers. That is what I would consider the A plot of the game and it didn’t kick in for like 15 hours. But once you start getting into that you’ll understand why it’s not like Witcher it’s not like game of thrones either. This is very much still a final fantasy game and you will reckonize patterns of things they tend to use that pop up in a lot of their games when things twist. Anyone claiming “muh this isn’t final fantasy” has played less than 10ish hours of the game or hasn’t played enough FF to see they re use a lot of stuff. I mean every JRPG has to end the same way it’s like it some world agreed upon law fixed in blood

I just beat the first play through doing all side quest all hunts everything got the best swords and gear. Took 46 hours. Ready to check out hard mode. I really enjoyed ff7 remakes hard mode

Well to be fair literally everything is marked on your map like a Ubisoft marker. Whenever a side quest is available you get a message then just open youcmap and look for the green crosses or exclamation marks. You will get the same messages if there’s new stuff to smith or new stuff and the shop. I guess I didn’t 100% because I only completed one of the “challenge” stones you’ll find around. Each one is a based on one eikon and you have to go 4 levels of 3 rounds of enemies each with no healing. Each level they give you 2 of that icons 4 abilities and it is timed. You can see what wil laddn time like 10 magic burst or execute level 5 zanzuten and then the excesss will carry to the next round. I only did shivas. Tried Odins but I doubt anyone has gotten him yet I’ll just say he has a move that kind stops time or interrupts your actions and I couldn’t figure it out. Also some of the hunts I did look up where they are because not all give any real idea and the best hunts are how you get the mats to make the best swords armless and belts. But yeah well technically I JUST beat the final boss at 47 hours. I did skip the prologue though from the demo

Also some may prefer to run around on foot in some of the bigger wide open areas to farm ap, loot, find treasure. Once I got Chocobos I most rode. I will say there is NO NEED to xp grind. You will hit 50 if you do everything in the game and form the main quest. The best way to grind AP if you want skills is replaying missions or stages through the ariette stone and basically always have the accessory that gives 20% more AP from battle once you can buy it.

You’ll play a longggg time with just Phoenix and Garuda I started to think I missed something. Don’t worry all eikons are gotten through main story progression and that order is set in stone

And I cant stress enough do All Side quest. In the beginning they will be wack as frick like you’re serving soup to people and shite but they all build over the course of the game. Missing certain ones can result in things ranging from different dialogue,’missing out on the best swords and armor, and some of the best stuff comes from the rep vendor every quest gives some amount of it. Doing all quest I was only like 200 over what was needed for the final rep gift. So yeah

And like k said combat is easy as hell for a while. And remains so pretty much for mobs but then I notice some bosses would kill me. Which isn’t a big deal because they for some dumb reason put you right back in the phase you died in and fill your potion pouch. Only the hunts if you die make you respawn the nearest warp, It will force you to begin to figure out what skills work and which ones to leave and master those that work so you have them in any eikon while using that icons O ability. I’d say Shiva is by far the worse except her ultimate is actually super good and cheap so I suggest mastering it for another icon. Ramuh is behind her most likely

ETA NG+ auto skips the demo prologue when you pick hard mode all hail yoshi p for saving us 2 hours

about 25-30 hours in. The problem with this game is that it's not a particularly good action RPG.

There is virtually no character customization or RPG mechanics to speak of. You have somewhat large open spaces to roam around in, but there's nothing to do in them. The side quests are comically bad.

Outside of the Eikon battles, the game does not look all that great. So much of the game is just you talking to generic looking stiff NPCs in barren environments.
