Other than being set in the same fantasy universe, Skyrim doesn't have a whole heck of a lot to do with the previous iterations. Maybe some second-hand references to Martin Septim in a book, but zip, nada, zilch regarding the previous main character. Same with the Morrowind - Oblivion transition, some rumours about the Nevarrine but nothing solid.

I was freaked out the other day when I was running around collecting upgrades and I discovered a rock bearing the words "Team Brannen".
I thought you had put some sort of curse on me or something until I realized that it was just a clever way of announcing who held the top spot on the leaderboard.
Also, killing the golden tiger with a bow and arrow was panic inducing.

Unless it's a game with a heavy emphasis on story, I can deal with missing an entry or two in the series.
Hell, I didn't miss a beat in Witcher 2 and that was without playing the original.
If the stand alone experience is solid, I don't mind missing on a few plot details. Generally it is summarized somewhere in a menu or cutscene anyway.

Honestly, once you learn some takedown skills the challenges become much easier. In the first one I ran around using takedowns one at a time but after I added some skills I did the first one again and was throwing knives and using pistol takedowns to inflate the score so high.

As much as I am enjoying this game, I am getting tired of the story. How many times will this bastard die and come back to life? Getting old.

Anyone else have an issue with a new assault rifle not showing up? I just finished a part and now there's a yellow exclamation point next to my assault rifles but I see no new gun.

It probably just means the gun is now free and you own it. New guns don't appear unless they are special guns you unlock, I think.

Hmm, sometimes you can unlock things you already have a version of. Turrets and other things also show up the first time you use them.

I'm talking about in the shop. It says there's a new item and I think it's the P416 rifle that the soldiers in yellow had, but I had it in my inventory from a dead body when I went to the shop, so I'm wondering if that somehow glitched it out of the shop.

They are looking at respawing areas that you have cleared. Will not buy this game at any price it the do that shite!

I wish y'all could've seen me last night. I was a base taking, tower climbing, stealth assassin motherfricker. And I finally found some frickin boars so I can carry more bullets. Got the shite scared out of me by a croc

If you zoom in on the map, it will show a white figure in the shape of an animal in that area meaning that is what kind of animal hangs out there.
