Just picked the game back up and this is a pretty major overhaul. Every area is level scaled and you can travel to any of the three alliances. I like it so far. I can actually play with my regular character versus making one from scratch just to party up with my friends. They still have the alliance based PvP but PvE is wide open now.

Does it scratch that Elder Scrolls and that MMO itch all at once? I've always been intrigued by the game but bad reviews kept me from pulling the trigger

I enjoy the Elder Scrolls games a lot, and I have enjoyed MMOs in the past so I was excited about ESO. It was really, really awful when it came out, and I haven't tried it since. Someone else would have to answer for the current game, but don't trust anyone who says it wasn't terrible when it launched.

I didn't play it at the beginning but I have heard that the Beta was terrible.

I play it as an Elder Scrolls game with other people in the same world.

Currently I've found that it plays great as an Elder Scrolls game, and average as an MMO.

Party questing absolutely sucks. Everyone has to do each step of a quest individually for most quests.

The world is beautiful for an MMO, and I enjoy having 1st person view. I can't judge PvP as I haven't really tried it out. The item bank and gold bank is account wide so you can share crafting ingredients between characters easily.

You can play the game however you want. A friend of mine doesn't really do any quests and plays the game as a horse riding/ exploration sim.

Beta was horrendous

Ended up buying game, Skyrim withdraw, liked it, but thought it could be better.

Until this update, once you conquered an area, there was no reason for going back, so starting a new character became tedious, because u had to do all the boring quests again.

1 thing they got right, was allowing people to dungeon dive, treasure hunt, and finish quests, by killing bosses, w/o having to find the quests or follow tedious go her, go there quest. I like to just walk around and kill shite, enter dungeons, ruins, etc. For the most part you can.

Anyone on Xbone playing it, let me know.

Watched a bit on Twitch and the they were saying that the new areas look MUCH better and it's more fun, but I have never played it beyond the beta.

My thoughts

Launch was awful.

Heavily improved since. I go back to it every now and then

Ah, it's only available for PC mac, now.

In Orsinium, i did see a cool Boss, with a bunch of minions. That was new, it was always just a boss fight. probably about 20 other people and me jumping in, fighting this thing.

I will have to check this out. I really like Elder Scrolls Online, but it did have one of the tightest leveling curves I had ever seen in an MMO. You really had to do almost everything on a map in order to not fall completely behind the curve. That made doing the content feel more like checking boxes off a list.

I am skeptical as to just how much of the content a player can actually do. I am not convinced that a level 5 player can do much in a lvl 15 zone without being destroyed just due to lacking the gear and skill points of someone actually lvl 15.
