Disney infinity vs Lego Dimensions

My 4 year old recently inherited my Xbox 360 when I got the Xbox one. At this point his gaming experience has been all Lego, Jurassic World and an Avengers game. In keeping with that I was leaning towards Lego Dimensions but I've done some looking at Disney Infinity and think he might enjoy that.
Anyone played both and have experience or recommendations?

Pretty sure they dropped support for Disney Infinity. So I'd go with Dimensions.

They did, and Lego doesn't have much support either. Both are probably not a wise investment when Skylanders is out and has an incredible support team behind it.

I would pass on Disney Infinity based on the fact that they've discontinued it, as others have said. That is unless you are hoping to buy a bunch of Disney Infinity stuff on clearance.
We bought my 6 year old son Lego Dimensions last Christmas and he still occasionally plays it when he gets a new character or level pack from a grandparent or whatever, but he's also just REALLY into Lego's to begin with. What I like about Lego Dimensions is that he can just add his Lego characters and vehicles from Dimensions to his overall Lego collection if / when he gets tired of the game.
Having said that, though...if I had to do it over again I would try to talk him out of this whole "toys to life" (as they call it) gimmick to begin with. He would have several cool, large Lego sets at this point instead of a bunch of small, overpriced Dimensions toys if we had never started down this road. He hasn't played the actual video game as much as I thought he would.
