Destiny doing away with paid content dlc for the year

Going with cosmetic dlc like emotes. This is good news for those that didn't like the way year 1 was priced out. They are going to still release content throughout the year.

I'm guessing their numbers were dropping on the outdoors packs. Cosmetic dlc makes bank for games like this.

Thankfully. Not that it really mattered to me financially, but $40 just for TTK was pretty steep. Especially when people buying the full "special edition" with that and everything before it all included for only $60.

All the $20 DLC should've been on the level of Taken King. Destiny, with all DLC should've retailed for $40 or $50 not $60.

I've softened my stance on the $60 dlc. It's really a whole new game.

No shite. Taken king has made the experience a lot better and added a ton of content. A $40 expansion is not bad at all.

I haven't had a lot to talk about lately. From a content quality standpoint, Taken King is what Destiny should have been from the start. I just think that revamping the game and then asking old players to basically fork over $60 to buy the game a second time is just asking a bit much. All three DLC packs combined are about on the level of content you would find in a WoW expansion. That's 60 dollars (80 dollars if you bought them over time) for less content than a single WoW expansion.

If you bought all of year 1 then it was $40 for Taken King. Year 1 was weak, it's time for everyone to get over it.

I pre-ordered the Digital Guardian version which back then was 79.99 I think. So another 40$ for TTK and I'm $120 deep. Can't really complain at all considering its by far the game I've played the most the last year. But sucks I paid about double for the same thing everyone is getting now for $60.
But you're right Gardoki. Looking back year 1 had zero depth to the experience. It was the 3 hour story, then the you to max out you had the get the same exact armor as everyone else. Then same thing with The Dark Below. And honestly looking back House of Wolves didn't even hold my attention for long. TTK really is a whole new game.
