DPS.
The throne team is most likely burning down Calus' shield too quickly and as a result not giving the Shadow team enough time at skulls.
The DPS phase, we have employed (4) Coldhearts with a reload shield on the platform. The other two are using some sort of launchers (Sins of the Past?) We just aren't getting enough damage. Not throwing enough nades, probably, either.
Read that you can try and bring 4 in the Shadow to help up your skull count, and we are planning on giving that a try. Leave the 2 characters in the Throne room that aren't using Coldheart.
We've only made it to him twice, and most of the team is just mentally fatigued by the time we make the encounter.

Coldheart is not really necessary. We could 2 phase him with about 75 skulls. Get everyone doing rockets with clusters in first two pillars. Do rally barricade to reload quickly. Throw them grenades. Gotta time that get on the plate too.

DPS hasn't been a problem. 3 man skull team got us 75 or more each time. We (I) made stupid mistakes over and over. It was my first raid, so I was the culprit multiple times. We got to 2nd phase only to screw up right before 2nd damage phase. We had him down to 1/3rd after 1st damage. We would have completed it easily had we gotten to 2nd damage phase. I was bad, but I'll be better next time.

I feel your pain. I have gotten Calus down to close to 5% health several times, only to have the whole team screw up in the third DPS phase. Still stacking Calus tokens. One day I will turn them in...

The GF is working this weekend and its supposed to rain, so I'll probably be LFGing all weekend to try to beat it or see if anyone one in my clan wants to have a run at it.
Most of them have beat it already. I'm gonna pass on prestige raid for now. I know every single section, and hold it down on my own for the most part. I've also gotten pretty good at throne room on calus, and usually lead in Kills and DPS.

If any of your guys have The Number auto rifle, it is awesome in the DPS phase.

Everyone is at some point, only way to get better is practice and be patient. All the sections are really easy once the team gets the mechanics down. Add spawns aren't that overwhelming.

You will be. I was/is. The group I play with were very patient. Yours will need to be. Watch some youtube footage just to get familiar. It won't take the place of actually doing it, but at least you'll have seen it.

I've been meaning to do that, but then it takes out some of the novelty and allure of the best part of the game. I probably will do that though.

I get that. I'll tell you, I didn't watch anything before hand and it was cool. However, I felt like a loser everytime I didn't understand something and screwed up. You'll feel better knowing that you, at least, have an idea about what they are saying.
The raid isn't just killing enemies. its puzzles and shite and doing stuff as a team. If you shoot the wrong arrow or move off a spot at the wrong time, everyone dies. I wish I had watched videos first.
ETA: And I totally understand why some of the lfg's want players with experience. I'm sure it was frustrating to my group for me having done none of the raid.

Yea I feel ya. The two raids I did on the D1 were confusing and nothing like the original game....I never did the 3rd one.

Just got my Hunter up to 305. Need a bond to get my warlock to 305. Hopefully nightfall gets me one. Will do it this weekend.

The agent this week is on Titan in The Rig where you will find him selling Sweet Business Auto Rifle Kinetic Weapon and the Raiden Flux Hunter Chest Armor. He also has two lots of gauntlets called the Doom Fang Pauldron Titan and Winter’s Guile Warlock.
