Dayz is so messed up right now

was sitting on top of a smokestack in novo.
I see a bambi flying around in the air, he stops and lands next to me and says "nice name" (my name is Ferguson Looter)
tells me to move because there is a sniper in the bus down the road and get behind the smokestack, then asks if I have a pistol
I say no but he can have my mosin.
I give it to him and he disappears. I hear two shots, he flies back and gives me a mosin with a longrange scope, compensator, and bipod on it with 40 rounds of ammo.
I climbed down and went to the bus and there was a dead fully geared guy.
I just logged off, may never play again

That's only because THE ixi sweat told me he was impressed with a long range shot I made. That will always be the high point in not only my Day Z career, but also my gaming career.

I still remember the time sweat told me I was good at fps games. Sure that phrase was wrapped in an insult about camping, but it's a compliment nonetheless

the current "stable" build, ironically, is quite unstable. lots of crashes and "dayz has stopped working".
loot is way more easy to find than it was awhile back though.

How is loot easy to find? Are the airfields/bases still the best places or are awesome guns dropping in houses and shite?

really good guns(M4, AK47) etc are super rare, even more rare than before, but there are a ton more civvie guns. running around a town checking the usual spawns will usually net at least something unless you're unlucky.
general loot (gear, food, etc) just seems to be more prevalent than a year or so ago. its almost like it respawns but I haven't been able to find a changelog with it so I won't claim it happens yet, but it does seem like it.

Go to the southwest base, me and my buddy found damn near every gun on the game there. Went and got some trucks up the road and are completely setup.

Standalone is a hacker's paradise.
All that bullshite Dean said about limiting modders from the game to stop hackers was a bunch of nonsense. There are a frick ton more hackers on standalone than the mod... Infistar has helped the mod a lot though.

I think we've ran into a hacker once in the last month or so, playing every weekend. Usually stick to certain servers.

Consider yourself lucky, they are freakin everywhere on high pop servers. Hacks are extremely easy to find for this game. Every preteen that owns this game probably has them.
