My fiance' doesn't really play video games but she was always obsessed with Darksiders II. Can anyone tell me what is so good about these games?

I actually didn't like II that much. 1 was a fantastic game. It was almost like a Zelda game

So the first one was more open? I remember watching her play and thinking it looked very linear.

I thought Zelda was open world? I guess its just the latest one that is open world. I never played the old Zeldas.

They're open to a degree, but they're generally pushing you in the right direction. 1 has some hub areas with branching routes, but you can't go certain ways until you get specific items from dungeons, just like Zelda

The newest Zelda and Darksiders II were both true open world

Ah ok, maybe she was playing the first one. I really don't remember to be honest.

yeah I really didn't like Darksiders II even remotely as well as the first... but something tells me I would enjoy Breath of the Wild more than any other Zelda to date. It's odd

much more Zelda than God of War - it's a great series, even 2, which wasn't as good as 1, was a good game

I just finished DS1. I picked both up during the THQ/Nordic Humble Bundle on PS4 for $12. Helluva deal.

I LOVED the first one. Mark Hamill and Phil Lamarr's voice acting were outstanding (as always).
