Probably happily taking a loss on it.

I'm watching a review that is destroying this game. I really, really hope this is a cornerstone moment for the CoD franchise to get back to its roots.

I can already tell that even though I really love BF4 and I'm pretty much happy with everything they've done, they will face something similar when it comes time to put out a new Battlefield in two years.

EA should really, really consider giving MoH to DICE and tell them here...make this game like CoD, but better and destroy it in every way. I'd be on board with a BF and MoH every other year.

Activision is claiming a 1 billion dollar first day of sales.

That's roughly 166 million copies of the game the first day.

:poop:

So, BO2?

I'll prolly pick this up after the weekend...not really in a rush. But I like this a lot:
quote:

- Hit detection is spot on (IW has always done this right) BUT you die extremely fast. Again, something you need to get use to coming from Blops 1 and 2. Folks who are use to running into a room and out gunning multiple players aren't going to like this game. If you want to get a killstreak going you need to pre-aim every corner. First shot gets the kill 90% of the time.

I remember on, I believe it was BLOPS, release night that it showed over 1.3 million players online.

We watched the population count on release night the other night and it never rose above 120k. I found that interesting.

From 4-11 am it stayed around 88k.

As far as COD goes, COD2 and COD4 were my golden days. I didn't even own a console until I started playing COD4. I was all PC before, but COD4...I could STILL spend 12 hours sitting with friends and play that game. It's just so fun.

Interesting. That doesn't bother me at all though...I'll play it as will most of the guys I run with. If it sucks, we'll just go back to MW3/MW2, NBD.

By the way, did you change your name on XBL? (jon snuuu...?)

Even though it's not my favorite, it's prolly the best one.

If they cleaned up or patched all the hacks for MW2, I'd still play that bad boy.

Like what?

It's still a lot of Toob/OMA shite, but that's expected. When we have a full team (or close to it), it doesn't usually matter if people are OMAing against us.

It amazes me how shitty some people still are at that game.

I remember playing and there would be the youtube messages that would come up on the screen. And by patch, I mean the OMA toob stuff. CoD4 was their very best game, but MW2 was their most fun game. It all went downhill from there.

Blakops 1 had the worst spawns in all the cod's but other than that, yeah, it was the best.

I like ghosts so far for the most part. There are a few things that I'm not real happy with like the insanely huge maps with only 12 people running a round. Sometimes takes a few minutes to even find someone to kill and most times you eventually get tunnel vision and get clipped by someone rounding a corner the moment you look away. Plus no matter where you are standing, there are always at least 3-4 different places someone can come out of to kill you. Trying to play covert is completely out of the question so it caters to the run and gun crowd which is fine sometimes.

The main gripe I have is lack of a way to see the quality of your connection.if I'm in a lobby with a bad connection, I don't want to be in there and I certainly don't want to play a few games trying to figure out if it's my connection or am I just slow on the gun for some reason or another. Nothing kills the enjoyment of an fps faster than a shite connection and there NEEDS to be a way to see this especially with most people using flat screens that are 100% digital which already adds lag that you don't get in an analog (tube/projection) TV. You need as little lag from the connection as possible so dropping a lobby to find a better one is just part of it. Like it or not.

There will be areas that people adjust to where they can defend them strategically. But the run and gunning will last a while until people get used to the maps and hotspots start developing.

I'm interested in the maps. I keep seeing people saying they are huge, but then I also saw someone say "huge like MW2 maps." Top to bottom, MW2 had the best maps of any CoD IMO. So if the maps are like those, then I'm good. But I remember griping a lot about the size of the maps on WaW when that came out. I'd respawn, run for days just to get back to the outskirts of the action. Hopefully it's more like MW2 and less like WaW maps.

They offer a good balance of big/small maps. The maps aren't nearly as big as people think they are though. They just seem big because people aren't familiar with them yet. Once you run through a map 100 times...It's suddenly starts to feel a lot smaller.

ETA: Also, As it's been with every map on every FPS, the maps have a lot of "dead space" where the action will never occur, So while it may seem big...You'll never interact with it.

and don't get me started on the STUPID fricking earthquakes and shite that happens while you're on the map...That's the dumbest shite.

I saw it one day and was like who the frick is that? But then I saw you were on a game (don't remember which) and I figured it was someone from here, so I scanned my list and figured it was you (or that you had deleted me ). I figured I'd just ask you about it on here one day.

No, there are some really huge maps. Yes there are some smaller and medium sized ones too but there are a few that just go on for days it seems like.

And they are much bigger than mw2. I think the biggest map in mw2 was the one in the woods with the big house. That is about the size of a medium sized map in ghosts. I would compare the larger maps to some of the team death match maps on BF4 only without the ridiculous cross map sniping points, but the same as far as size. Which would be great if the lobbies were bigger.
