Bought this game off steam for 8 bucks over the weekend..

I decided to go for the diplomatic victory.. Wanted to just be peaceful and do my thing.. Then some Persian a-hole builds a city next to the gold I've been planning to mine and takes it ....so I killed his people and burned all the cities to the ground just out of spite... Thank god I'm not president of the US

Games fun as shite haha

Lesson learned, the AI will plant a city down to take resources.

I bought it too but splurged the extra 410 bucks for the GOTY edition. Still playing my first game. They really screwed me and stuck me on a relatively small island/continent with another city state taking up a third of it and no land all that close. So damn annoying.

Of course America and that Washington prick got a huge spread away from everybody. Can't wait for the UN to be built so I can get a world poor tax passed on that shithead

The one piece of information you should know when playing Civ5: everyone is hostile, everyone is out to get you, and everyone will screw you over at the first opportunity.

Especially Montezuma. That guy will turn on you faster than you can say Tenochtitlan. It doesn't help that I city rush and culture block everyone within my radius too though.

I've played civs for years. This one seems a little simpler than 4.

They definitely removed some elements, but the combat system is much improved.

I just took a break from Civ 5. Working on a domination campaign. I control all of North America and the majority of South America, and had a very large invasion force set up in Siberia to take on the Russians when they hit me preemptivly. 2 nuclear missles took out half my land based invasion force, 20 B2's 15 guided missles and 2 nuclear submarines with 4 nukes. After that I got pissed off and havent played since. The game is addicting as hell though so it wont be long before I start playing again.

Dang son, game sounds intense. I used to love rts, but have admittedly quit playing them due to frustrating shite like that

Sucks seeing your entire base wiped out.

He is a fool for allowing another Civ to have access to nukes anyways, no way he was going to win that one. By the time I have researched the Manhattan project I've either gone full military or have beaten the game in another fashion. Nothing better than having nuclear submarines parked off the coast of the second biggest Civ, and then pushing the button and watching them go.

If you ever let a Terran tech up, especially as zerg... Ubad

The problem is at the point in which I started the game every civilization which had a supply of uranium had access to nukes, it was basically the first thing everyone built. Up to that point I had been able to take out others civ's nukes with my own pre-emptive nuke strikes. Just so happened as I was moving my boats into to place for the strike they got lucky. But yea I agree

It depends on the personality of the Civ I'm facing. If I see Napoleon or Montezuma with a supply of uranium then I am moving in and getting my hands dirty to preserve my supremacy. If I find that Siam or Gandhi has it, I'm not too worried.

In the campaign i'm playing now i'm using the geographical accurate map, So i'm situated in the America's and their in central Europe. So for now their non-factors I set a long line of destroyers, battleships, missle cruisers and submarines the Center of the Atlanic and destroy any ships before they get anywhere near my coast. My main thing is getting additional sources of aluminum and uranium to grow my army so whoever is closest to me with those resources gets invaded
