I think he has been doing it to mock those who do it for views. He had mentioned it a while back and everything he has made sense has been those click bait titles, video lengths, etc.

Most of his past videos have clickbaity titles and thumbnails, this was all about getting more subs. He's the epitome of what he's supposedly speaking out on.

It's clearly satire. I have no idea how people don't get that. It's painfully obvious. You don't just drop millions of dollars in revenue on a whim. Honestly I'm glad he did this. Hope all the people who hate on him for no reason drown in a pool of their own salty tears.
