Way late to this party but just picked this up for $30. Knowing my luck it'll be a free title next month. Enough about me though, which Bioshock, in your opinion, is the best?

All three are good, but 3 is the most epic.

The story for 3 was a mindfrick but I enjoy the 1st one the most. So original for it's time. The scenery, the music, everything. Just a very good timeless game.

If you had to compare the first one to another title which game best fits that description? Asking because I couldn't find a lot of information on play type online before I purchased the collection. While I have no doubt I'll enjoy it thoroughly I'm just wondering what I'm in for. Thanks!

I'm not sure there's anything quite like the first one. I played a game called Singularity a long time ago that had the same feel to it. Hard to explain how though . Not similar in story, just game mechanics. That was a very cool game too now that I think about it.

Thanks. Not sure how I let all 3 of these pass me by but for $30 the reviews I read make it seem like $10 a game is a good deal.

BioShock is the spiritual successor to System Shock 2. The two games are extremely similar in terms of play and story presentation.

The first one because I had never really seen anything like that before. I still haven't played the 3rd one but it seems I should! Is it available to play on xbone/ps4?

1 will forever be the best of the series to me. Rapture is just a wonderfully imagined setting. The game/story has no peer in the series.

Infinite is good, but Columbia doesn't hold the same appeal to me as Rapture.

Should I take my chances and see if it will be free next month?

Bioshock Infinite is the best. 1 and 2 have a really cool atmosphere but the gameplay is outdated.

Lol I would if I were you. Chances are good since I just paid $30 for it.

Agreed. Original Bioshock is just a thing of beauty.

I should probably give Infinite a go sometime then. I had bought the trilogy a long time ago and finally got around to giving the first one a go and just couldn't get into it due to the weak gameplay. The story and atmosphere were cool, but the gameplay bored the crap out of me.

Playing the first Bioshock as an angry non-conformist kid seemed to change my life. The social threads stuck with me for a long time, which affected my day to day interactions. It also made me feel hopeless (which I like), in a way the Half-Life series deliveries the same tone.

Sounds depressing but really is enlightening.

I was actually ready for one to end. I liked it a lot up to a certain point then it had the whole Return of the King endings problem and I got bored.

Read up on the plot of 2 and my heart wasn't in it. I'll get around to 3 one day.
