worse than city

this saddens me greatly.

THough to be fair, improving on city wouldve been very difficult.

Are its shortcomings gameplay related or story related?

All i really care about as far as buying the game goes, are 2 things:

Is the combat system still awesome?

How "open world" is it?

It's nothing catastrophic. It's just hard to top city.

It's a little bit of both as they're not mutually exclusive when usually it would be.

Consensus is gameplay and about the amount of it. Story is entirely up to your own interpretation.

It's the best it's ever been and much more brutal and powerful with predator fights much more interesting instead of being a chore and having the batmobile helping you out in combat is so fricking cool.

The ejection seat in the batmobile mobile has made gliding in this game much more powerful. You can glide faster and higher than before.

3 times bigger than city and twice as big as origins. It's a monster to explore. The graphics and attention to detail is insane. Gotham in this game is absolutely beautiful to look at and explore. It's nowhere near as dull and quite more populated.

Put simply, it's like pizza that will always be a good eat but will never top that pizza you had in that city or state you vacationed in.

I'm about 60% through the game and I love it.

I'm still in the middle of witcher and I know I'm going to be playing that game forever so I wanted to knock this out.

I fricking love predator mode now. I feel so goddamn powerful and the fear takedown is amazing. I have so many options to attack people. Arkham Knights variety is amazing.

I'm meh on the bat mobile. The fights are only ok. The riddler trials involving the bat mobile are fun, save for a few races.

It's about 8.75 for me right now. It's freakin Batman. It's fun.

The very end of that lap took me forever. It would randomly drop in a soot it wasn't blinking and I died multiple times.

Honestly i have really enjoyed the Joker being in this. Him being in Batman's blood and all the scenes he keeps coming into help fight off the dull parts. Some of the things they have him do are also entertaining.

Not sure if people have heard but it's been announced that the first addon will be released July 21st, however season pass holders will get early access on the 14th. Titled Batgirl: A Matter of Family.

quote:

Batgirl: A Matter of Family takes place before the events of Arkham Asylum, and allows players to take on the role of Batgirl for the first time in the Arkham franchise.

It takes place in an all new location, with multiple missions, side quests and secrets. There is also a new hacking mechanic for you to solve puzzles with. Additionally, there is Dual Play functionality with Robin to perform dynamic take down moves.

Will only be coming out on PS4 & Xbone, due to the PC's severe issues.

I honestly feel like the stealth segments are a chore and I dread every one of them. I suppose that's more of a franchise critique than a critique of the game as it's hard to believe that with all of the gadgets Batman has at his disposal, he still can't develop a Batarang he can throw from a distance to permanently incapacitate guards. They were more tolerable in the beginning of the game when it was a matter of taking out 4 or 5 guys, but the latter ones where you take out 10-11 armed guards plus the big guards with machine guns feels tedious.

I will say the stealth segments in this game are not as frustrating as those found in Origins.

I do appreciate the storytelling and atmosphere thus far though. Much like in Origins, it's the reason I keep playing even though I'm not a fan of the gameplay.

EDIT: Although, with the number of times I've died to the drones in the tunnel before the Arkham Knight fight, I'm thinking of considering my death as the actual end of the game. Batman dies. Badguys and bad game design win.

I found those later fights to be more fun. It was too easy fighting only four or five guys and fighting them with the guns, shockers and medics makes it more tactical.

spoilers if you're not far into the game.

The thing that almost ruined the game for me was how tank heavy the fights so far have been and to have the lead up to the fight with Arkham Knight be tanks and him falling back with a sniper sucked. I would've preffered an actual fight, but I guess with thw fighting system they couldn't really do that.

Seems that at this point, Bats is too awesome a fighter to be challenged by anyone, so everyone has to use tanks, gunships, armies, and sheer numbers just to stand a chance.

A pity. I also wonder if the way the other guys handled the Deathstroke fight in Origins if they did something Rocksteady wasn't really a fan of.

There was just no moment like that. Hell. It looked like in the commercials Batman was fighting vs someone hand to hand that wasn't just some average mook you beat down by the dozens.

I get why the Batmobile was included, and can even get behind it having the tank mode. But it was really overused. And the biggest issue is that even with the upgrades and such, you never really get more options. You get to target more enemies at once later one. And that's about it. A few more upgrades are there, but they aren't really practical since they take a few seconds to do anything. Would've liked some kind of boost jump or some way to disable to missle lock guys.

Also the fact that the only way you could get out of being in missle lock was beingin tank mode has sucked. I really wanted to be able to take out tanks smashing into them for the large battles.

Aside from the comment on Holywood storylines in video games, this guy is spot on with how I feel about the game:

SPOILERS.....

I just 100 percented the game and man, the full knightfall ending is ambiguous as shite. It basically forces you to use your imagination regarding what happened to Bruce Wayne in Wayne Manor and if that Batman is really still Bruce Wayne, some new guy or just the fear toxin. I kinda like it.

Batgirl: A Matter of Family Trailer

So that looked like Tim Drake as Robin in the trailer, doesn't that throw a wrench in the timeline from a continuity standpoint?

People act as if the 100% ending is a bonus ending. The game literally does not end until you finish all the side missions. This game has no ending otherwise.
