Maybe a broader question in general. Any pros and cons of buying through one over the other?

Sometimes GOG is better for older games because they will patch them to run on modern hardware (my copy of Jedi Knight on Steam is unplayable but it runs fine on GOG).

For a new game like this though, it's really just whether or not you care about DRM. GOG has a launcher like Steam but the game can be downloaded and played completely DRM free on GOG.

The GOG launcher can launch games from other vendors. GOG is not just older games, and hasn’t been in years.

I prefer GOG if given a choice, however, if the game is on multiple store fronts, I will buy the game from the store that is supported by WeMod (essentially a cheat engine.) A game that is on Steam will always receive WeMod support before WeMod support on other platforms like GOG, Epic, etc.

For pricing, try using “IsThereAnyDeal” dot com, it will find you the lowest price on multiple platforms.
