I decided to do this for fun in 2017.

My first purchase, a full box copy of the NES vesion of Metal Gear. Even has the manual. I'm nerding hard over finding this by pure accident today. The fake story written by the marketing department always cracked me up

My daughter found a box copy of Zelda: Wand of Gamelon for the Phillips CD-i. Didn't take any pics of that one, though, but here's the box cover off the net

Where you pick up Metal Gear? But burn the second one with fire.

I collect big box PC games. Like HL, HL2, Dibalo, City of Heroes and City of Villains are prides of my sort of collection.

Picked it up at a place called Fallout Games.

I already have Snake's Revenge

I saw a ton of old school box PC games that I can't wait to get my hands on. Dude let me take a look at a few of them. Original 5 1/4 inch disks. Frick yes.

The NES version of Metal Gear is awful, but it's kind of neat. I have the cartridge, but no box/manual.

I collected Sega Saturn games for awhile. I have a lot of the essentials but nothing that costs hundreds of dollars. These days it's kind of a pricey hobby.

The NES version was all that was available for us to play when I was a kid, so I have a certain nostalgia attachment. In fact, after playing the MSX version, I still like the NES version more. Better color palette and better music. Theme of Tara after more than 2 minutes makes my ears bleed

Gotta admit, the store was pure magic. But I think I'll limit my collection to old games with the full box/manuals included. I *might* pick up an Atari 2600. Dude in the store let me play a model he had set up. Yar's Revenge is still awesome.

It sucks that it is harder to run an old computer game off a CD vs. getting a rom.

I collect retro games. That Zelda CD-i game is worth a good bit right now. The price will probably continue to rise for that system since it's so obscure and there is no other way to play the games besides emulation.

I thought you might find your way into this thread.

Do you have a CD-I?

I don't. I've started to gear my collecting towards games that I really want to play instead of having a nice piece to sit on a shelf. My next goal is to figure out the best way to burn some Sega CD and Saturn games.

I have both systems, the saturn is modded and plays most anything that I throw at it. Is yours modded?

The sega cd doesn't require modification, but I've had troubles with burned cds on it.

If I'm right, he cleans out repo house or something like that so anything he finds he can keep.
