I did not, and never saw that option. It's probably why it looked so damn bad.

It's worth a shot. I play on a 27" 1440p monitor and the graphics don't bother me. They certainly aren't as good as a modern game but for 11 year old graphics technology it certainly is playable and enjoyable.
The game defaults to 1024 X 768 so I can see how you found it hideous to look at.

Watched a little bit the other day, all the dude kept talking about is illegal farming and how he does not want anyone in his guild doing it because it could cause tension if they killed an unknown stealing it. I like the how open it is and may give it a shot.

So I have been following Archeage a little more closely since I posted this thread and I am really impressed with the direction it is going. It seems to be a true sandbox MMO, I am planning on buying a "founder" pack when it hits beta, which is supposedly starting in June. Here is a video I found that highlight the pluses of Archeage.
