Watching Twitch I saw it happen tonight. I went wired years ago because of this issue.

I've always used wired. Don't like the way wireless feels.

My xbone controllers gradually started getting worse and worse a few months ago. Both of them have play and charge kits, but even the slightest touch of the cord would disconnect the controller. If they weren't plugged in they would work fine for about 3 minutes until they would just disconnect for no reason.
I tried everything: batteries, no batteries, plugged in, unplugged, moving my xbone, other people's controllers, etc. and nothing worked.
I came to the obvious conclusion that it was the xbone, and not the controllers.
I was so bummed, because I knew Microsoft was going to be such a hassle to deal with.
So I packed up my system, drove to the Microsoft store, and this ensued:
Walk up to guy who immediately helps me. (No reservations needed like at the Apple Genius Bar.) I tell him the whole deal. About how every controller I've tried is doing the same thing.
He asks me: "Have you tried doing a full shut down of the console?"
"Uh yeah bro..."
Without a second question he responds with, "Okay great, we will just replace the console for you."
It was like a wave of euphoria better than most drugs. Good guy Microsoft doesn't even plug in my xbone to test it, just hands me a new console to replace it. The kicker, he also gives me 3 free months of XBL for the "hassle".
The new xbone has been running brilliantly with zero problems.
Good guy Microsoft is my boyfriend now.

I have a wireless xbox controller for my pc. Whenever I use any of the paddle/joysticks they stick in the reading, but not physically.
And only when I tilt them left. And it happens randomly.
Any idea what the problem is?

This is one reason I sit next to my PS4. I've had controllers getting low during a raid and it's important to be able to plug right in.

sounds like a controller issue, but it could also be a problem with the driver. Do you have Windows 10?

Yes, but I haven't updated the driver since I installed 10.
Come to think of it I think the problem started with 10. I'll reinstall the controller and go from there!
Thanks!

I've died many times in critical moments in bloodborne because my controller died and the game doesn't pause.

Was in an epic battle with a deathclaw in Fallout New Vegas. I'm going in to finish the deathclaw off and my controller went dead. Deathclaw promptly tore me apart while I looked on in horror

I had that happen once. I just changed my battery and went on. It is easier to switch batteries and raid then feed a baby while raiding. I have mastered the feeding so no issues lol

There are no good stories when your controller dies

My GF called me into the other room. I said " be right there" but really ignored her to keep playing battlefield. Controller died about 10 seconds later, so i sighed and got up to see what she wanted. She wanted the D.
