It released today for the PC, I think there are a couple of console players that are playing it.

A lot of early impressions on this game weren't great. Like a watered down version of the previous two, not fully realized at all.

Played it on PS4 due to PC version being unoptimized prior to release and I didn't want to deal with it.

It's OK. Animations are pretty bad (stabbing looks like Gary's World-level of bad). Visuals are decent. The AI is really bad--or designed that way. They just rush straight forward. Line up bow shots or stab them repeatedly. I haven't died once from enemies other than the random bear or big cat that mauls me.

The problem is that everything positive about this game was done better in FC3/4. It's not a bad game, just it's already been done better. The negative aspects just accentuate the mediocrity.

Good thing I decided to pick up FC4 for $18 this past weekend instead of Primal. My instincts were correct that it would not be as fun.

And this is around the price point I will be waiting for to pick up Primal. I loved 3 and 4, but thankfully I was able to pick up both at really discounted prices. They seem to go on sale rather quickly.

I paid $38 for Primal so at least it wasn't full price, I think I might like it but we will see.

Zero Interest. It looks so bad.

I love it, already beat it. Just going to dick around with it until the division comes out.

I am three hours in and I am loving it, I was very worried it would suck but so far it does not. I do not miss the bullets and bombs and I love me some bullets and bombs. It does use the same play style script as 3 and 4 yet it feels different, there is a ton a shite to do and one of the ways you enjoy this game if if you get off the beaten path and do other stuff.

Taming a pet is VERY cool, but I have always played a Beast Master or Ranger all the way back to my pencil and paper days. I always considered the crafting in the last games a chore but it doesn't feel as much like that in this game.

Cons are it's like a subtitled movie and I hate those but it's not bad enough to no like the game. The combat is pretty straight forward and not too bad but mobs do try to run around and flank but it's pretty predictable, TQO if you are not playing on the hardest setting (I am not) then you shouldn't complain, if you are then my bad. Hunter sense should be a toggle because having to reapply it is kind of a pain.

I liked 3 but it was basically Assassin's Creed with a different storyline.

-Go here
-Climb this
-Jump down
-Collect X to make Y

If they made it more like Skyrim then I might have enjoyed it more. 3 just felt too formulaic.

I wasn't liking it at first, but once taming the animals, I couldn't stop playing. Also agree that the crafting isn't a chore.

The animals are badass when you take on enemies.

I will, just have been busy. I'll RL anyone who says this game will suck before playing.

Honestly I don't understand the love for Far Cry games I played 3 and 4 and hated them both. The games consist of little to no story and repetitive gameplay that is very similar to every other sandbox game. I'm not knocking anyone that likes fc but I will never buy it again.

Holy Jesus that's fricking embarassing.

Like I said before, it's mindless fun, but certainly nothing deeper than a mobile game type activity while taking a break from other games.

I like it a lot. It's not a game I'll play through again but I'm having a lot of fun with it now.

Taming beasts is pretty fun, especially once you get some of the powerful ones. I have the rare Sabretooth and it's just filthy. At the beginning of the game I was getting frustrated because any time I came across a bear or something big I would get killed. Now they're not a problem.

And I like the bow and arrow more than guns. I didn't think I would, but it's much more satisfying putting an arrow in someone's head than gunning them down.

Crafting ended up being fairly enjoyable. I like leveling up characters attributes and equipment in games and Primal has an easy system to follow.

It's not GOTY or anything, but it's definitely a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
