This. And if you are used to Xbox live, playstation network is considered a downgrade. Most people that start of on xbox live can't stand psn. There is a chance this could change with next gen though
I started off on XBL and the only knock PSN has for me is how cumbersome it is to communicate with friends, like sending invites or how sending a message is like pulling teeth.

The guy writing that letter sounds like a child. Worse yet, a conspiracy theorist child. I'm glad he enjoyed his little temper tantrum while the rest of of society who can think for itself at least saw that xbox was trying to do something new in the industry (whether they agreed with it or not).

And yes, I'm so sure MS wants to watch his pimple filled greasy face sleep in a twin bed.

Lol if you don't think that Microsoft cares about getting as much information as possible from me to sell out to their advertisers.

Name a specific E3 where a company got destroyed more than this one? It got so bad that I believe one executive told old users who weren't cool with the system to basically go frick themselves and stick with the 360. Pretty fricking insulting if you ask me. I don't think any of the Big 3 have gone that low until that point when talking to their customers who had alot of concerns with the direction the company was taking.

I know exactly the quote you're referring to, and he said if they wanted a machine that they could play games offline on they should either play their old 360 or buy a PS4. And even that was only in response to them just throwing personal insults at the company instead of explaining why they didn't like MS's ideas. I don't think that's insulting at all. If you want a console that performs the exact same as the one you have already, just use the one you have.

That's not the point at all. The graphical and performance quality of the new systems are really what people care about. Not miming in front of a camera or watching TV. Or being treated like a child.

With the 180 on DRM, I am not unith the technical direction of the XB1.

I will buy a PS4 first, because Sony has a better history of releasing finished products on launch day.

Microsoft turned me off with their initial responses to gamers' objections. I hope they fired their entire PR department.

No, that's what you care about. PS has always had better graphic and performance quality than xbox, so I don't understand why all of a sudden graphics are #1 priority for the xbox fan base.

1 - A ton of xbox users, including myself, bought it for the all inclusive entertainment system that it is. So that's not true.

2 - Could you have marginalized its social and new motion abilities anymore with that statement? I think its cool as shite that I can switch controllers with player two and my controller auto switches to controller two and his auto switches to controller one without me having to do anything. Or controlling my system and TV with my voice. That's certainly much more appealing than a 360 with better graphics.

You get treated like a child when you act like one. This entire saga reminds me so much of Obama's election. Just one lemming following the other until we're all walking off the cliff together. If the public didn't knee jerk react "OMG ALWAYS ONLINE WTF" and actually thought about what kind of capabilities that allows, maybe MS could treat them like adults. Or maybe I'm wrong and the gaming public just isn't ready for innovation. In which case I'll be switching to the master race because $500 for a glorified version of what I already own is less than appealing.

The graphics part was due in part to we expect a leap in quality. I'm just taking this as from a pure gaming experience point of view.

I think there are two kinds of gamers. The two different consoles appeal to the separate kinds. There are people who don't like all the extra. There are people who really think it's the bee's knees. Neither are right or wrong.

True, and I guess that dichotomy is something i should work harder to understand. Xbox's original proposition was certainly geared more to casual gamers, not the hardcore types. I just got the impression no one actual thought their ideas out, and just knee jerked a terrified response because everyone else was doing the same thing.

It doesn't help that Microsoft was so, so God awful at getting their ideas and points across. I'm not afraid of change, I welcome progress. But the things Microsoft were proposing for their next console didn't do anything for me.

Now this, no one can disagree with. They were abysmal at explaining what they were trying to do. And I really feel like that's an understatement. If there's one thing that can be agreed upon by consensus, its that their PR department made one of the worst marketing blunders in history during this whole ordeal.

No we want options. We're told everyday how things are going to be. I'll be damned if my gaming console will too.
