Its deluisional to say the game is all about shooting. Half the game is Tomb Raider exploration/puzzle solving type gameplay. I'm not saying that a large aspect of the game isn't shooting but to call it a straight shooter is wrong. SOCOM is a 3rd person shooter, UC is not.

I've yet to see what's so special about this game too. Figured it was more fud from the Sony zoo crew.

Well what you saw is all there is, very little is known about this game. Not quite Quantum Break level but close.

If you fire a shot in 3rd person then it is a 3rd person shooter with puzzles.

Nope. That's what they led us to believe and what drew me in. And yes, there were puzzles, but I don't need to fight a new wave of enemies after every switch I pull.
They didn't allow for enough exploration IMO.

This actually brings up a separate conversation about how mixed the genres are now. It would be an interesting conversation that would end up being shite on before it's over, like most we have

Absolutes aren't fun. If I solve a puzzle, I'm playing a puzzle game? If I get into a car, is it racing game? If you jump from platform to platform, is it platformer?

one of the reasons I fell in love with the God of War series was because not only was it a hack n slash, but had a storyline, and along with that tons of challenging puzzles and platforming.

If I'm playing a racer/puzzle/3rd person shooter combined then that's what I'm playing. If the shooter aspect of the game is in third person no matter how much, it's a third person shooter.

You're taking it as the ultimate insult. The fact that it was 3rd person wasn't the main reason I didn't think the game was as great as it was made out to be. If ME had been nothing but gun fights, I'd be talking about that series.

First was good, but I was tiring of the formula pretty early on. Halfway through the second and I was spitting fire. Never finished it and didn't touch the third.
