2014 Gaming Board Awards "trim the fat/suggestions" Thread

Proof has lost the plot, so I'll give hosting the awards a go and see what happens. The attitude towards this is mixed from what I can gather, so if this is a flop, I'd consider the GBA's dead.

So below is the template from last year's awards. I say awards solely for identification purposes since KK took his ball and went home. Looking at the video game section alone, it's pretty convoluted and I think for the sake of keeping people interested and actually making it to the polls, we simplify things. For instance, I don't think the portable gaming crowd is all that big or vocal to make having a category for that worth our while. And MMO, JRPG, and WRPG just scares and confuses certain posters. But that's just my two cents.

Also, the poster/gamer awards can probably be fine tuned as well. I know, things aren't like they used to be, and maybe that's a bad thing. But if we can get this part to be more reflective of the current state of the board, again, maybe people will be more interested.

Take a good look at this template since it's really the only good and useful thing Klark did for the GBA's last year*.
