Before the AB-InBev merger the AB distributors were pressured into only carrying AB products.

Ever since InBev bought them out, they have been allowed (and even encouraged) to increase their craft portfolio.

I believe Beer Wars was made pre-InBev merger.

No I understand completely. The topic wasn't about the top two Suppliers in the business (AB inbev/MillerCoors) controlling shelf space and sets in stores. They buy the space and warrant a certain amount due to sales. I was correcting the idea that "Louisiana distributors" didn't want to bring in craft beers. It's just very far from the truth and every time this topic comes up someone blames the distributor when in fact it's a supplier issue. Believe me when I tell you distributors are chomping at the bits to pick up brands like yuengling. And yes even AB houses realize they too have to stray away from their 800lb gorilla Bud Light and sale a few craft and microbrew cases to keep the lights on.

Oh, they don't have to sell craft beer to keep the lights on, bud light will do that all by itself without even getting to the other AB products. They just realize that craft beer is going to sell no matter what so they might as well get the cut instead of another distributor.

Why do their buildings, trucks, etc have Bud, Miller, Coors logos on them

Also for the record the companies will pay to have trucks wrapped with these logos. It's a 50/50 payment between whoever owns the particular brand and the distributor. Obviously whatever your flagship is that's what logo will occupy the majority of equipment, uniforms etc.

This is the bulk of the problem, many breweries are pulling out of states (allagash and avery to name a few)

Agreed, didn't know they helped pay for it though. Distributors sell alot more of the BMC product so they have alot more reps coming to them. Just saying that has to play into the distributors mind somewhat more than if they didn't have the resources that it does. Many craft breweries would do the same thing though if they could.

Yeah it came out right after the merger so it was probably all shot before the merger happened.

Don't think they've made it West of the Mississippi yet.

Great beer.
