I know it doesn't help, but I just can't get behind scotch. I've tried many times but just can't make myself like it.

That's good. Drink Irish and save yourself some money at the same time.

Dewars or Famous Grouse. I know it's blended swill, but I like it. I kinda feel like the good single malts are wasted on my pallet.

My go to used to be Macallan 15 but sadly it doesn't exist any more.

Oban 14 years is a good one
Bowmore14 years is another of my favorites
Laphroaig 18 is really good but pricey

If you don't mind blended scotch and are willing to spend about 350 for a bottle, Ballentine 30 year is one of the best things I've ever had to drink.

I'm not a huge scotch guy but my bottle of Dalmore King Alexander III was probably my favorite bottle of whisky in my entire collection.

Scotch is very much subject to your own taste buds. Do you like smokey and peaty or something more along the lines of bourbon? My go to's that I think are pretty solid across the board are Balvenie and Caol Ila.

Where are you buying Balvenie 30? That's an 800 dollar bottle
