Most important thing is not to overcook. Shrimp go from perfect to overcooked in a short time. I season the shot put of the water to limit the soaking. You can soak, but you have to add ice to drop the temp to stop the cooking.

Don't overcook.

Steam it, don't boil.

My idea was to get her boiling good. Shut off the gas then drop.

Bring water to boil,
Add crab boil, liquid and powder. Follow directions on package for proportions.
Stir and let boil for 15 min
Add shrimp
Bring to a boil
Cut heat and add ice.
Let soak and taste test every 5 min until desired flavor achieved.

I'd bring two gallons of water and 1/2 gallon to a boil, with a head of garlic and 4 cut lemons, with a cup of Zats powder and 1/2 cup of liquid. Boil 10 minutes and taste to adjust seasonings.

Add shrimp to a rolling boil. Stir after 30 seconds and again in a minute. When all shrimp have just turned pink, cut the fire and drop in 8-10 lbs of ice. Soak until they taste right to you.

It will not take as much water as you think. Put just enough water to cover the shrimp.

Shrimp don't take up much space at all. Any pot you use for crawfish should be sufficient and can also get by with smaller stainless boiling pots if that's all you have.

You can probably get by with a 60qt or smaller pot.

Reading comprehension must not be your friend. He/she stated to add the shrimp AFTER the seasonings boil for 15 min.

Everyone is different. I do not time because sizes vary.

Season and boil the water
Add shrimp
Once water returns to boil watch the shrimp.
When the shell begins to separate from the meat on most turn off heat.
Soak for 8-12 min depending on seasoning desired.

Here's a good link that has a good recipe. I wouldn't cook it for an more than a minute, ice it down and let it soak for a while.
If you have 2 pots, boil in 1 pot with plain water, transfer and let cool/soak in the other pot with seasoned water.

Seasoning should be added after the fire is killed
