Chimes in BR and Tap Room in Lafayette had them locally for few months.

I've been looking forward to going to this place next time I'm in Lafayette...couple points.
Being called a biergarten, I would think there would be at least one or two German beers on tap (a hefeweizen or kolsch or something). However, their online menu says they do have 4 Weihenstephaners in bottles along with a small menu of German staples...so still retains a bit of the biergarten vibe.
Whether that menu reflects what they actually have, I'm not sure.
Of course, the place would be a little better to have at least a Weihenstephan, Spaten or Paulaner on draft once they expand the taps.
I'll reserve judgement until I visit.

I'll be loaning out my PA System for this event to raise money on Saturday at the Wurst.
Come out and complain about the bier on tap

I was coming to post this. I'll be cooking German Beef Stew out there a little earlier. I think this is also their Oktoberfest kick off

will do, just look for that fat guy with the black pot set up. I'm not hard to miss. They will sell tickets at the bar and come get a bowl from me.

I wonder if they'll have the LSU or ULL games on? I'm waiting for it to cool off a bit but I've already declared that place my weekend daytime drinking spot, it's been a great addition to downtown.

According to the owner, yes. It was one of my stipulation for coming and cooking on a game day. Well, that and a few free beers

For those of us who are completely happy with a Falstaff, did you order food and if so, what was that like?

I've had their Boutine before, it's fries, cheese curds, boudin and gravy and enjoyed it. I've only been once or twice but that's the only food I've had and would definitely get it again.
