Guess I had high hopes for this place to be actually cool. Why can't we have awesome biergartens like Stone Brewery and Easy Tiger

It isn't.

Last time I was there they had Envie, Gnarley Barley Big DIPA, and a couple of Bells beers. Not an extensive lineup but solid for eight taps. I'd agree with OP that they need to expand the taps soon, and maybe add in some big arse fans. He's not being a pussy, it's fricking hot out there.

The guys from Bell's certainly came through and did some pounding of the pavement. I'll be featuring them here soon. Good stuff. I figured a Biergarten would have more than 16 taps with the way the market is trending these days.

Wurst is doing really well. Other people will take notice, IMO. Hopefully for their sake they'll have their house in order by the time competition arrives.

I get that but still not new.

What new beer that is available here in LA would you rather put there?

It seems like you wont ever be satisfied if a beer that was released just a month ago is not new enough.

Stone literally doesn't even do one offs. Last time I was there the only thing special was an unfiltered enjoy by. Everything else is easily accessible at the local grocery.

Easy tiger doesn't even get Jester King or Austin Beer Works (outside of peacemaker) beers. Literally the best thing I got from them last time was Dales.

I don't even love the Lafayette beer garden and think it's very overpriced, but we're talking about Lafayette here.

Requesting a name change to Beer Bitch for you.

I went last week and enjoyed it. It seems like they are doing good for the space they have. Being able to bring the dogs was a plus. But damn, $8 for a Canebrake.

but the thing is a biergarten is supposed to showcase all the local beers in the area and offer some german beer also.

Then list
Sweetwater
Founders
Brooklyn
Green Flash
Oskar Blues

What is local or Belgium about those?

Those breweries I listed, they make their beer in a beligum, traditional way.

I did list local beers but you chose to focus on the ones that weren't. Good job.

It's not. OP is just carrying on the FDB mantra of nothing is ever good enough.

Everything you've posted in this thread is the reason I troll FBD threads

I hit the beer cave and grabbed a 12 pack of Miller Lite bottles. The ambiance of the beer cooler wasn't great, was very cold in there. Nowhere to sit and there wasn't anyone there. And the selection was just your same old Miller, Bud Light and Coors that you could get anywhere.

Plus the credit card machine was at a shitty angle

So let me get this straight. You're bitching because all they had was grocery store beer. You have proposed that they offer different selections. Cool.

quote:

Sweetwater -- shelfturds at Rouse's

Brookyln -- shelfturds at Rouse's

New Tin Roof Specialities like Rusted Rye and etc -- shelfturds at Rouse's

NOLA brewery specialities like Wolf and the Lamb, and Apricot Peach, etc -- okay, that's different

Oskar Brewery Deviant Dale tap variants -- ? variants of Deviant? Uhhhhh...nobody has this

Parish Serendipite -- I seriously doubt much of this will be leaving the brewery, but valid

Bayou Teche Giant Hop for Mankind -- fair enough

Green Flash Specialies on tap -- shelfturds at Rouse's

Founders on tap. -- shelfturds at Rouse's

Regardless, they need to really think about rebranding. "Hey guys, let's go to Wurst Biergarten!" I mean. It just sounds bad.

I love trying one offs. One offs give the brewery a chance to gauge the interest in the beer before they start making it regularly. Places like the Chimes, Bulldog, or Avenue Pub should commission a brewery to create a special one off exclusively for sale by them and not available in any other bar. That will be a draw for the bar and give the brewery some extra PR, as well.

If I recall correctly, Urinetrouble was here last year, and the Apex Bar had 25 one off IPAs on tap. They all featured at least one of 4 different experimental hops. I think UT and I went for the Boneyard Notorious, though.

I did go back later in the week and try some of the one offs. A couple of them were pretty good, but none were as good as Notorious. The brewers were good, too - FW, Boneyard, New Belgium, Melvin, Fort George, etc...

Again, who has those locally?

ETA Do you even read the shite you post? That blood orange variant has 14 check-ins, like half of them at the taproom. The others seem to be off a cask according to descriptions. You're being asinine.
