Buffalo Trace is a good bourbon. I've got a 2 liter barrel for ageing spirits with a handle of Buffalo Trace in it right now.

Preface - I don't like beer. I rarely drink wine. My drink of choice is a good whiskey/bourbon/scotch neat in a glass.

But last night I was making a fancy schmancy meal with steak, homemade succotash, and roasted beets, and I had some figs on hand.

So I quartered the figs, smashed them in a glass, and soaked them in a cup of Jim Beam for about two hours. Strained it right before we sat down to eat.

Fig infused bourbon is incredible. You should try it.

Started the night with a couple WT 101 old fashioneds. Next was a glass of Four Roses Single Barrel neat. Now, on to some EH Taylor barrel proof.

Friend of mine picked up a couple ec21 I got out of Nola. So I repaid his kindness in a glass...really enjoying it.

I picked up a bottle this weekend I've never had. I have seen other varietals talked up in this thread, thought it would be worth a try as it is moderately priced enough to pour for friends to keep them out of my JPS 18.

Thanks for the input guys. Talked me into getting a bottle. I'm a Woodford guy but that gets pretty pricey for an everyday whiskey.

Got this one a few weeks ago and really like it. Wish I had bought a couple more, at $40 it's a good buy.

$39.99 for a half gallon at rouses it almost impossible to beat for a solid bourbon.

latest comical experience on the BX...

Just got quoted $400 for a bottle of Stagg and $550 for a bottle of William Larue Weller... These people have lost their damn minds. I guess some fools are actually paying these prices.

These type of people make me sick. Just because you were lucky to find a bottle now you want to ask 7 or 8 times the price is disgusting. You and ticket scalpers can Choke.
