This is no different than someone buying a Thomas Handy or some other bottle that while difficult to get may not be exactly what you are looking for. However, others may want that bottle so when presented with the opportunity, you buy it in hopes of trading it for something that you may like more.
We have all done this. We are all part of the same hypocrisy.

That's true. I think most people on this board have done that at one time or another. I will say this too, Jflsu bought some ghost in the machine a few months ago and didn't want them and sold it to me at cost.

Oh shite. I think I have a history of being pretty neutral and fair in this. Buuuuut. Yeah. If you're buying up things that are limited allocation with the sole intent to flip secondary, that's kinda shitty. Yeah, sure, it's a capitalist society, do what you want. But that's like one person buying up a substantial share of a metro areas BTAC/Pappy and then just flipping it. It only drives the secondary market, it does nothing to benefit the distiller/brewery, which is what actually benefits the industry. I'm going to hop off my soapbox now, I won't mention it again, but that's a hard

FPD is a High West Son of Bourye, started a gravy with some flank. Never done that before. Caught it on sale a few weeks ago and froze it, thawed some today and figured, eh, screw it.

In jlsufans defense, he didn't just walk into a store and buy a case. He went to multiple stores and got em. A bit of work goes into finding a good supply for some of us. I spent 3 hours procuring mine and blew a lot of gas. This was less luck and more work. Just picking up the case from him saves someone else a lot of work and that goes into the value too.

And for those of us who aren't on a special "list" were limited to 1 or 2 bottles. To me that's just as bad as wheeling & dealing on a secondary market.

ETA: I got a few bottles and a few variants, enough to satisfy me, but it was all a product of just dragging my hungover arse out of bed and making the rounds. And I'm a miserable shithead when I'm hungover, which probably isn't that far from me sober. We all do the same thing. Nobody gets a free pass.
