Curious, how do you do your old fashioned.

I cut a sliver of orange rind, squeeze for oil
One Luxardo cherry, crush, but don't muddle
Bout half a teaspoon of simple syrup
Few ice cubes
Couple dashes of bitters
Bourbon (usually rye)
A splash of straight DiHydrogen Monoxide

I have just started the practice. I think it may be the volume enhancer that I am looking for.

Very unique nose and palate. Lots of wood for an 8 yr old and you can taste the malted barley influence (scotch like), but the sweetness of the 35% corn really comes through on the back end. I like it.

Drinking that clear right now. On my second vodka and soda. Long day with taking my 3 yr old to the game. Gonna have some brown after a nice long, hot shower.

Gotcha. Might eliminate the actual fruits in exchange for just bitters. Not sure how many $18 bottles of cherries I can justify.

Had to stay making my own old fashioned since walking two blocks in this city has become hazardous, not too mention the local spot is a prime location to get regulated.

The wife actually took a vacation day for it.

What is the night before dinner about? No way I am paying that price for pairings with Parish beers, but it does seem like a cool event for those nearby.

Who is doing the food? At first I thought it was a food truck type deal again just a VIP night before.

Have to guess this is a huge moneymaking weekend for the brewery. No middleman on all the presales and charging for beer that is already paid for. Great for them.
