Crusty,

I did the Stranahan's tour a couple years ago. I'm a fan of it, especially if you're trying to segway from bourbon to scotch. It's got elements of both.

At $55-60 a bottle, I feel there are better offerings at that price point bourbon-wise, but if you were given a bottle by all means crack it open and tell us what you think

I would drink it if it's free, but wouldn't buy. It was just ok I thought. But jmo.

Diamonds peak or the original? Like others have said it's fine, there's nothing wrong with it, but I don't think the price matches up.

I have a bottle and I liked it. It's got a little heat right out of the bottle (which is strange for an 86 proof) but it mellows out nicely so you can enjoy the flavors.

I got mine for $53 and I feel like that's a good price point for it. I wouldn't spend much more on it.

I haven't had it so I can't say anything concretely, but I seriously doubt it's worth the GTS, WLW secondary prices people are paying.

It seems as though they followed the playbook:

1. Small allocation
2. Vintage name that actually means nothing to the actual bottle contents
3. Get Jim Rutledge to mention that he may have had something to do with it
4. Profit.

Saw this posted with all of the Kentucky Owl craze. The sad part is somebody probably bought THIS bottle secondary.
