Jim Beam is now run by the same people that discontinued HIbiki 12 for Japanese Harmony. Next thing you know Jim Beam drinkers will be like:

Anyone tried the latest EC 18 release? I wasn't blown away by last years considering the price point.

I don't really have a problem with them dropping from 6 to 4 batches a year. It seems like when I first started buying Bookers, it was typically around 7.5 years old. Now most batches are closer to 6. Unfortunately, I'm betting that the drop in number of batches has nothing to do with the quality of the juice. Probably just having trouble coming up with more idiotic names for each batch (Big Worms Secret Batch and Aunt Tudies Enigma Batch coming next year!!!).

If they did something to make it worth more, like age it longer, i'd think it was less ridiculous

Only so many goofy names to go around I guess. I think you're right about the # of releases, Booker's sits on the shelf at almost every liquor store around, so I definitely understand cutting back on the supply. The price increase makes no sense at all based on the current demand (at least as I see it). If it's sitting on shelves at $60, it'll never sell at $100 unless they dramatically improve the quality (it's possible, Booker's rye/B25 but not likely). I don't hate Booker's and have purchased it a couple times as a last resort since I have an affinity for barrel proof stuff, but I wouldn't ever dream of spending $100 for the current iterations.

Exactly. I've been stocking up on Old Forester 1920 lately. It will probably be my high proof go to for a while.

Now, if FedEx can go ahead and locate my shipment that they claim to have delivered to my house yesterday (while I was home), I can stop being pissed off.

If they were smart they would have bumped it before Christmas for all of those people who pop in here asking for a $100-200 shelf bottle.

If we get that many people asking then liquor stores around the country must have lots of people(with no knowledge but have a set budget in their minds) looking for that.

I just dont get it unless they change the flavor profile. Just to many good bourbons in the 40-75 dollar range that are way better than Bookers.

They are just taking advantage of people with more money than brains.

FedEx doesn't know where my package is. It contains a Lot B and an Eagle Rare 17. I think I'm going to just stay drunk all day. Already had a few beers. Moving on to whiskey.
