When I first moved to California after Katrina I started going to IHOP regularly with family members and they always talked about how Waffle House has nothing on IHOP. I didn't agree at first but I've come around to thinking its a much better product.

Waffle House
Better atmosphere
Smaller, and better menu

Comparing apples and oranges. Waffle House is the quintessential greasy spoon, open 24 hours a day, mostly counter seating, and catering to the demi-monde. IHOP is a more upscale family-style restaurant serving a varied menu in addition to breakfast staples. I like both.

That's like asking, which flu do you like better, H1N1 or swine flu? Both are pretty terrible

Waffle house in BR. That IHOP location on college is too much of a shite show

I rather Waffle House, they do a decent breakfast for not much more than a shitty McDonalds breakfast

Waffle house. I think I would get physically ill stepping foot into IHOP.

There are certain restaurants I refuse to eat at.
Both of these are on that list.

In all fairness I tend to hit Waffle House after the sun goes down and the clientele gets a bit sketchier. My only recent experience with IHOP was in Pensacola a few years ago. My hotel was next door to one and I ate there quite a bit.
