Used to frequent the one on Florida a lot back when I lived out there, and the proprietor was always friendly as could be.

I used to live close to there as well. Owner is very nice. Ate there all the time. I remember when they used to have video poker machines in there you could play while you waited on your food. I thought their roast beef was pretty good also.

Mike Andersons?

Pastime is OK, not great. George's is pretty good, but I prefer the hamburger w/ avacado there.

Now NOLA is a different matter. Go to Liuzza's, Mandina's, Parran's in Metairie on Veterans Hwy. All awesome.

Haven't been this lent, but New Orleans Poboys on Coursey are the best i've had in BR. That and the onion strings are great for lunch.

Is the Crawfish Place in Industriplex still open?

No, this is where MikeWillies is now...but how did this get to 2 pages without DEMPSEY'S being mentioned? They set the bar pretty high.

Off the Hook is a very legit place for any kind of poboy, and I know that because they actually cook their own roast beef, only places I've seen in BR that do that are them and ACME.

They do their own baked ham for poboys also.

Rainbow Mart on Gardere.

Yeah its the ghetto, but 5 bucks for a 12 inch shrimp poboy with awesome crispy bread is something that just can't be passed up.

PoBoy express is good, but Bear's Grill on Lee (Where Sangria and Portobello's used to be) is by far the best poboy I have had in BR.

The best in the world is in Maurice, LA at villager's cafe, but that's for another thread.

They're good. But to say a bun with anything on it is "amazing" is extreme.
